Honestly though, a terrible movie, but in a good way. I highly recommend it to, well, anybody. Credits were hilarious...

Ah, but how does it compare with the stage version?

(I haven't seen it, but the in-laws loved it)

Now that my laughing fit has dispersed, a more detailed review...

Nostalgia abounds, especially in the setting (A Greek island) and costume design. Donna (the mother of the main character) played by Meryl Streep was an absolute god send, she sold the whole thing, and the two friends who showed up made the movie intentionally hilarious. The main thing that throws it is that the actors CLEARLY hammed it up, and absolutely loved it. Pierce Brosnan singing? Funny as hell - he's not exactly brilliant at it, but he pulled it off, and the rest of the cast have absolutely beautiful singing voices. As I mentioned in my previous post, just stay seated when the starter credits roll to see just how much they loved it ^_^

As a warning however...the comment of my companion?

"This has more cheese and camp in it than a campsite made of gouda"
