Title: Yay news headlines -_-
Post by: Sevenforce on July 11, 2008, 09:40:45 AM
When did the news start practically lying for sensationalism?

Headline: Killed by half a Paracetamol!

Actuality - We forgot to mention the 16 others that she also took within a day. Woops!

*sigh*

I assume you are referring to this article (http://www.metro.co.uk/news/article.html?in_article_id=214929) or one like it.

I agree that is a very deceptive way to write the headline. And, even in the body of the article, the notion is still kind of that the extra half tab is what killed her. That's like saying that someone who bled to death was "killed by one drop of excess blood loss".
