Title: Custom FX Not Showing Up In FFX 3.2?
Post by: Figure Fan on July 07, 2008, 09:23:42 AM
I've been trying to install a few custom FX to use in the new FFX, but they aren't showing up to select in the character creation menu.

I've got the game installed, then FFX 3.2, then EZFX. The EZFX stuff shows up fine, too.

I followed the directions for Ren's Cap Shield Throw to the letter, and still nothing. Do I have to change the FFEdit file pathways or something? I tried to do that already, but I might be doing it wrong. It seems FFX's Data pathways differ from the original game's, too. I don't remember having trouble like this before..

If anyone has any idea what's up, I'd appreciate the help.

I went through the same thing a few weeks ago when I installed the Ren's Crimson Avenger fx.

Make certain in FFedit that the Primary Path is directed to the FFX folder (or FFX Map Pack in my case).

That's it! Everything else should work perfectly. You should also see all the EZFX stuff listed under FX when you change the path.

Hm, you see, the EZFX stuff always showed up in both the regular game and FFX. Yet, the FX I install only show up in the regular game.

I just tried changing the path, but what do I change it to? FFX doesn't have a "Data" folder like the regular game does. :(

The FFX folder IS the data folder. FFX is considered and works like a mod.

Let's say this is what is shown as your default, Primary pathfile in FFedit:
C:/Irrational Games/Freedom Force vs The Third Reich/Data

To change the Primary pathfile, just direct it to this:
C:/Irrational Games/Freedom Force vs The Third Reich/FFX

Then follow the directions as said in Ren's readme file. The fx images should then show up in your FFX game.
