Post by: Ares_God_of_War on June 30, 2008, 05:40:18 PM
So, Who is excited for this coming out? I think it sounds pretty interesting with what I have seen so far.

one day they need to do a cross over with WoW and Diablo

the genres are a little too far apart, in my opinion, Blizzard always maintained that Warcraft was ment to have a more lighthearted feel, even considering some of the events that occured, while Diablo was meant to be pure, straight up, scary-goth-horror the whole way through. as far as Diablo breaking into MMO format, it could happen, and Diablo 3 seems to set the stage pretty well for it, but given Diablo's long history on Battle-net, i don't know if the fans would appritiate having to start putting down cash every month to play it.

eh I dont think they should make Diablo an MMO by itself unless they are willing to go M like Conan. I would just like to see the two cosmologies mix in some form or another in a game, that owuld be cool.

Anyway so far the two of 5 classes are the Barbarian and the Witch Doctor

Don't be surprise if Diablo & starcraft becomes MMOs.  I think that the big money maker for Blizzard right now.

Maybe at some point they'll make a Diablo MMO, but Diablo III ain't one, and it'll still be years before it's out.

Also, as long as WoW is the 900 lbs gorillia of MMOs, it doesn't really make sense for Blizzard to come out with another huge MMO.  They'd be competing with themselves.

Personally, I'm looking forward to this a lot, but I wish the barbarian wasn't back.  Sure, they've retooled his skills, but I'd rather have all new characters rather than a mix of new and old.

A nice development here is now you can play male or female of all the classes.  :)  It's a little thing, true, but it's a nice thing from my perspective.

Guessing on classes, I'm thinking we're going to have an archer type (Amazon/Rogue), pure fighter (Barbarian/), spell caster (Sorceress/Wizard), Witch Doctor (Druid?/Necromancer?), and... I dunno, possibly Paladin (armored fighter with light spellcasting).

Somehow I don't see the Assassin making the transition except in an expansion pack later on, unless I totally underestimate her popularity. Witch Doctor sounds like a hybrid of the two summoning classes, which also elimitates another expansion character (sniffle), so I doubt druid will be back, even though he was my favorite to play (I liked turning into a werewolf, darn it!).

Guess we'll see.

Now this is the best thing could ever happend, even though i do like many games, the fact that sometimes i am restricted to only play a male character detracts a little from the fun...

and my favs of diablo 2 are paladin and assassin

I'm looking forward to this, which means I would have to play 1 & 2 again to get the feel of the game again.  One more thing about the MMO topic, If WOW ever dies down, then expect a Starcraft and/or Diablo MMO.

Starcraft might be interesting as an MMO but i'd be *very* curious as to what the classes would be.. i have a feeling they'd only use the protoss and terrans, since the nature of the zerg is too specialist, what with a completly different breed for each roll..
