Title: The late adopter speaks!
Post by: Uncle Yuan on June 17, 2008, 10:49:05 AM
So I've finally gotten around to giving a serious try to some of the mods that are out there.  I just completed the Strangers -   Kudos to Dr.Mike and his team.

I will definitely do his other mods soon.  In the meantime, does anyone have any other favorite mods I should know about?

while I thank you for the endorsement, I think he's looking for ff1 mods at the moment. My mistake if he's looking for mods for both games.

I'll add in that Alex's JLA mod is pretty good as well as Hero city if you want to test some custom characters out in some situations. The teen titans mod was also pretty fun to play back in the day. I also happened to enjoy wickerman's Metal storm mod. I'd advise you to check out the Mod graveyard/list of mod thread to see if anything catches your fancy: http://freedomreborn.net/archive/index.php?topic=42078.0

Oh, just to note, as an aside, I recommend checking out the matrix mod just for the innovation factor. Of course, you'd enjoy it more if you actually like the movie.

Suicide Squad, the Fantastic Four Mod, Iron Mod were all good fun. As are those already mentioned here by everyone else.
There haven't been any Mods I've hated playing, so I'd say get as many as you can, try them out and see what takes your fancy.
For that Dr.Mike feel theres also Tales of the Navigator, which I think is also at his site.

After "The strangers", play with "Tales of Navigator". And, of course, "The Great Hunt".  Sometimes, I've re-installed  :ff: only for play with this fantastic mod.

I have the Great Hunt downloaded, but I'm going to wait to play it until I get my Uncle Yuan finished.  As I recall, you start with enough prestige to recruit a fairly solid custom hero.  I just started the Teen Titans mod, and I'm definitely going to do the Navigator soon.
