Here with another impromptutorial is your friendly neighbourhood Phantom Bunburyist:

[spoiler]1. Open your character.NIF in NIFSkope.  For simplicity, I have chosen a mesh which has no extras, 3-D Man.  For meshes with extras, see below.

2. Right-click on the mesh in the 3-D rendering window and select "Texture" and "Export Template" from the pop-up menu (left-click on "Export Template").

3. In the dialogue box that opens, left-click on the "File" button and locate the file folder where you would like to save your wiremap.  Choose the square dimensions you would like to use for your wiremap (e.g., 128x128, 256x256, 512x512, 1024x1024, etc.) and then left-click on the "Ok" button to export your wiremap.

4. In the 2-D image editing programme of your choice, open the wiremap.  The edges and vertexes should appear in black upon a white background.

5. If you are using Adobe Photoshop (as I am), use the key combination CTRL+I to invert the colours.

There you have it.  If you are working with a mesh with extras, you will need to follow these steps with each individual trishape mesh piece and then, if necessary, create a composite wiremap of the extras by collapsing layers and adjusting levels. (If anyone has any questions about this step, PM me.)
