Title: What are hero files?
Post by: docdelorean88 on May 02, 2008, 11:54:09 AM
Excuse the newb question but, could someone describe what a hero file is, and what it does?

It defines what powers and abilities your character has. And what skin & mesh it uses. Pretty much everything about a character is in his/her hero file. Apart from ffx extra stuff.

To give you a little bit more of an explanation: when you create a custom character in the game, this is actually a file on your hard drive containing all the information that C4 mentioned above.  You can also create/edit these files externally (i.e. outside the game) using a number of custom editors that various community members have created.

The only one I know of that is expressly designed for  :ffvstr:  as opposed to  :ff:  is located here: http://www.alexff.com/ezhero.php (http://www.alexff.com/ezhero.php)

The latest EZHero actually handles hero files for both  :ff: and  :ffvstr:.

Very true, and I didn't mean to imply otherwise.  I suppose the 'opposed to' in my earlier post makes that unclear.  Thanks for clarifying for me.
