Title: Krrish! - Bollywoods succesful entrance in the Superhero action film era
Post by: thalaw2 on April 28, 2008, 06:42:37 PM
So I was roaming through the local DVD store looking for a little sumthn' sumthin'.  The store offers a discount if I buy 3 movies but I could only find two I liked (don't remember them) and i grabbed Krrish randomly because I liked the cover....that's also how I discovered Crash...I don't get many English movie previews here...

Well a month later I finally watched it and wow!  This a sweet superhero movie, Bollywood style.  It combines  everything thats good about our favorite superhero movies (megalomaniac, super computer, naive farm boy with super powers meets city girl, filial responsibility, aliens, etc.) and manges to weave a very entertaining story, which I won't spoil.  Whats more is that it even has the cool dance routines that Bollywood is famous for.  I had never watched a full BW movie before this, those guys can get down and boogie.  Anyway, pick it up....8/10

Grooooooan.  Actually, I thought Krish was OK for a Bollywood movie, and pretty good for a B superhero movie, I just found the juxtaposition jarring.

And since Aunt Yuan hails from the home of Bollywood, we watch a fair number of Bollywood movies.  I'm more used to them than your average gorah.  And I still found it jarring.
