Title: Did you feel the earth move?
Post by: Uncle Yuan on April 18, 2008, 06:43:22 AM
Apparantly there was a fairly significant earthquake in southern Illinois early this am.  I felt in in Iowa City - I had just shut off the alarm at about 4:30 when the bed began to rock.  Lasted about 30 seconds and was only about a vigorous as a cat jumping up on the bed - but my door was shut and no cat was in the room.  Not too significant really, but it was my first earthquake!!

Live in central Illinois, I didn't feel a thing, slept through it.  But I did feel the last one two years ago.

My girlfriend's in Oxford, Ohio: says her roommates both felt it but she slept right through it, heh.
I, on the other hand, am in Southern California and haven't had an earthquake the whole time I've been here. Go figure, eh? ^_^

I felt the earth quiver like a leaf on a stormy day! Such power, the raw energy of the earth shaking the ground for all of humanity's insignificant lives to witness. How exciting!!

however, I live in London and think it was due to the roadworks outside.... ;)
