Title: Tomato's Meshes
Post by: Tomato on April 02, 2008, 09:33:12 PM
Normally I keep most of my "meshwork" confined to my skin thread, since most of my work is nobs and bits that I happen to need rather then any overt "I'm going to make a mesh for this character" kind of thing. But because as this project is going to be done entirely in 3ds max, I thought I'd put one here for it. I'm previewing it a bit early, because I know some of you got a kick out of Darek's hair, and this is kind of an extension of that.

Is that one single piece or multiple pieces? I ask because I'm just now getting into 3dsMax for work and I know many pieces affect polycount and processor speed.

It's technically two pieces, but that's for my own convenience. I'm doing three meshes with this body-base, and one uses the bangs but not the SSJ spikes, similar to Darek's hair.

Yes, but since this pic I've modified the mapping for the hair to a different area on the skin and made it bigger so I could fit more detail, whereas this pic was made with the ssj spikes mapped over the banges.
