Title: X-men-style Super-skrulls
Post by: Talavar on March 28, 2008, 01:22:54 PM
In comics this week there were 2 super-skrulls, but with X-men powers rather than the Fantastic Four.  I thought that was kind of a cool idea, and would make a fun character in Freedom Force if anyone was interested.  Scans follow:

Hmm, cool, what powers did he have?  I see Colossus, Cyclops, Night Crawler, and Wolverine, but anyone else?

That's whose powers were demonstrated so far, but it was a first appearance, so he could have more (though if he did have all of the X-men's powers, that's a lot of powers!).  Plus, well, shapeshifting, but all skrulls get that one for free I guess.

Another one just apeared in New Avengers and it showed the powers of Cyclops's optic blasts, Night Crawler's "bamp" teleporting, Wolverine's claws and healing (it got hacked up by Wolverine and Echo and it was fine), and fire powers with flight which Wolverine said it was either Torch's or Firestar's fire power.

Wouldn't Sunfire make more sense?

Sure, the Human Torch isn't a mutant, but why does Sunfire make any more or less sense than Firestar?

Granted, it's been a while since I read anything with her in it, but didn't Firestar's powers manifest themselves as control over microwaves (and, thereby, generating heat), and not just fire?  If it was visible fire, especially along the beam, (which I don't know if it did or not) it would make more sense to *not* be Firestar.  But that's just me. ;)

They gave her typical pseudoscientific gobbledigook about her microwaves able to "ignite air", making them visible as flames when she uses them over a certain level.

i remember way back in the 20th century there was a superskrull called paibok that had diff. powers some very close to the x-men.he could fly,had metal skin, force field, and bio-electric blasts.he could have had more but they werent demonstrated.with their technology and shape-shifter abilities they could combine abilities to mimic anyone.superskrull is one of my favorite villians.

It just seems like an idea that not much has been done with, since the Skrulls could copy the Fantastic Four's powers, why couldn't they copy other peoples?

Oh, if it's a repeat of House of M, where nothing of relevance happened until the last bit of the last issue, I'll be...irate.
