Title: skinning the alien_warrior mesh
Post by: Panther_Gunn on March 17, 2008, 01:13:44 PM
As a favor, I was attempting to make some (what I thought were) simple changes to the alien_warrior skin, and found myself thwarted by the symbol on the back.  Everything I tried to do either didn't work, or screwed things up royally.  A simple recolor makes white space show up around the symbol, and that makes just about the rest of the skin white!  I'm guessing there's a particular way I need to save the file, but I haven't figured it out yet.  I feel like I'm overlooking something simple, but it could just be that I'm too simple to do it right.  A little help would be appreciated.

Are you changing the logo texture or just the skin?

If it's the logo, check your alpha channels.  I just ran a quick test in photoshop and character tool and removed the logo via the alpha channel.  After that, it was just a matter of changing the alien skin and there was no distortion.

I suppose you could also try to remove/change the logo texture using Nifskope, but that's over my head.

Hope this helps.
