Anyone try this?
Is it a good game?
Is it a bad game that can be overcome if you're a fan of the show?
Or is it just bad?
The X-play review (which you can find online) gave it a 2, iirc.
friend of mine played it. Said it was absolutely terrible.
easy achievements though, as he has 1000/1000 of them, if you're into that sort of thing.
Yes, but I'm wiling to forgive a terrible game if its a)reasonably true to the show or b) gives us information on the show we wouldn't otherwise have. *coughenterthematrixcough*

Unfortunately, Lindelhof and Carter have come right out and said that Via Domus is not canon, so if there are any revelations in it, they wouldn't be applicable to the show. I was still thinking about getting it, just to have a reasonably cool interactive Lost experience...but after watching the X-Play review it seems like not all the cast members voiced their characters in the game. So...crappy game with no relevance to the show containing characters not voiced by the original actors means I think I'll pass on this one. I'm really disappointed too...I've been looking forward to this for a while. :(
Found a video walkthru and watched that. Looks like a fairly cool and compelling story told by a lousy game. Now, the walkthru I saw was the bare minimum necessary to finish the game, so not everyone was talked to. Out of those that were:
I'd be willing to bet that these were the originals

These are close enough that I can't quite be sure

These are so bad they took away from my enjoyment of the game

Locke
So there's only one real clunker in the bunch- whoever voiced Locke did an awful, awful job and sounds NOTHING like him.
The walkthru cut off before the credits, so I couldn't verify anyone of the maybes, and frankly didn't care enough to research.
I read somewhere that Kate (of course) and Claire were both voiced by Evangeline Lilly. Didn't she originally audition for the part of Claire?
If that's true, then Evangeline does a mean Claire impression. The voice is exactly like her.
lol...you know what? I think the entire voice cast of the game might be unknown voice actors. I found the credits for the game on youtube and there was not one Lost regular listed under voice talent. I've also found numerous forum posts and reviews that seem to corroborate this. :lb:
IMDB lists Desmond and Sun as originals..not that IMDB is 100% correct 100% of the time..but I'm just sayin..

Yeah, I saw that too. Also in the credits for Via Domus, toward the end it says "Lost Cast" and then lists all of the actors...ALL of them...for the show. The running time for the credits is around 10 minutes, but I watched the whole thing and nowhere does it indicate any of them did voices for their characters in-game. *shrug* Who knows. It still seems to be universally reviled as a crappy game...which is unfortunate. Even if the game offered nothing in the way of furthering the plot or revealing answers to mysteries, it would still be cool to have a fun, immersive Lost game. But I suspect Via Domus will be briefly noted as a missed opportunity and then forgotten.
