Title: Opus Magnum
Post by: robinka on February 18, 2008, 01:33:07 PM
Some of you may have been wondering "whatever happened to robinka?" and I am sure there are plenty of you who are wondering "who is this robinka?" Hehe. Hi! I'm the one who sends happy hugs.

I've been keeping myself pretty busy. I taught public school for about 4 years and remained very involved in the local Renaissance Faire. (I play a fairy.) I also bought a house and got married and have finally completed my masterpiece! Sorry, it isn't a Lydia comic. I'm sure I'll eventually finish the cliff-hanger from so many years ago but as you can see I'm a little busy at the moment......

His name is William Bear Floyd. We'll be calling him Liam or Bear. He was born January 29 at 6:59 AM. Tomorrow will mark his 3 week birthday! Wow! :)

I'm so proud! I can't say it was completely natural. My blood pressure spiked a few days before his due date so they had to induce but I did not take any pain medication! Here I am with my husband, Rick just a few hours after he was born.

:yipeeCONGRATULATIONS! :yipee
It's so good to hear from you again!  I was one of the people wondering where you'd gone. ;)
Hopefully you will continue posting and keep us appraised of Liam's development.  BTW, that is an excellent nickname!
Oh, and if you don't recognize my new handle, I used to go by "Bamphalas".
Really glad everything is going so well for you. It's great to see that smile again. *hugs*

As opposed to all the other babies, whom you could barely look at without revisiting your lunch? ;)

I know! Why are so many of them so chunky when they come out? Seriously, what did you eat in there, Baby? Tires? I weighed like 50 lbs when I was born, I looked like a little baby Jabba the Hutt except I didn't have a pet Gremlin (zing) on my tail. And what's with the mishapen head that a lot of them get? My brother Timmy still hasn't completely grown into his noggin at the age of 10 (ish). We call him Mr. Potato Head because his head is shaped like a potato. And potatoes are fugly (and we're a terribly unkind family)! And then some babies start growing hair in pattern baldness. Little short, stocky, bald, Costanza BABIES! If you let it get too bad, you get little Gallager (or Gallager 2) looking babies, except they're funnier and make more of a mess. And don't even get me started on the soft spots! When I have my manatee babehs (in hopefully no less than 2.5 years), they're going to be wearing helmets!

Sorry for the derailment (100% Spud's fault). Babies are great.

Ahem.  <_< And the moral of the story is that young Master William is perfect in all conceivable ways. :)

P.S. "Liam" is a far better alternative to the gross domestication "Bill."  I give it two thumbs up.
