Hola amigos,
So my dad drove himself into the hospital in Chicago last night and collapses. It turned out he was in atrial fib, had respiratory failure AND pneumonia to top it off. He's 84 and has been struggling with coronary disease for about a year. He's now in the ICU with the ventilator tube stuck down his throat and is just beginning to respond to the medical staff. My bro and I are flying from Boston to Chicago today (there's no other family there) and will be there for at least for a few days.
We're hoping for the best. Please keep us in your thoughts, and offer up a prayer if you're inclined to do so.
Be well,
EC
Hey man, I'm really sorry to hear about this, we'll keep him in our prayers in the Grey household.
Hope all goes well, Condor.
My dad went through much the same thing during the summer (respiratory failure, pneumonia, and something else). He spent two weeks in the ICU hooked up to various machines.
'Twas a yucky time for all. Hope it sorts itself out as well in the end for your dad as it did for mine.
I'm sorry to hear this, Condor. Hope everything goes well.
I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts, Birdy.

:( One more additional prayer sent for your Dad's recovery.
I hope your Dad does well, El C. You are all in my thoughts!
Les deseo la mejor suerte
Very sorry to hear it Condor. My father went into hospital for a leaky valve last year and there were a few complications and scares with the surgery, although everythings worked out in the end. Your father will be in my thoughts and I hope everything goes well for him.
I've wanted to post here for awhile, but I really suck at this kind of thing. But really, my thoughts are with you and your Pops, Condy.
Hola todos,
I'm in the hospital and hanging with Papa Bird. Don't have a lot of access to internet these days, but the good news ATM is that he's doing much better and may go home soon, albeit with new meds and and oxygen tank. We just have to make sure that the stubborn old man takes his meds when he's supposed to :P. I'll check in with more later, but the word is promising. Thanks for all you thoughts, amigos!
EC
YAY! Glad he's doing better.
