I really don't want Microsoft to take over Yahoo! and have even greater corporate control of the web's resources (leaving basically Google and Sun Microsystems as their biggest rivals, if they can be called that, in web solution development), but somehow, I can't imagine Yahoo!'s stockholders walking away from the price (Microsoft's offering to buy the company at over twice its current market value).
:blink:Oi.
I think that even if Yahoo stockholders accept the offer, the merger is unlikely to be approved.
just when you think Yahoo can't run any worse than it does . . . you see an article like this.
QuoteIt has been struggling in recent years to compete with Google, which has also been a competitor to Microsoft.
Is Google better than Yahoo? :o
By a mile yes, google is far richer and competes in more markets than Yahoo.
However, if Yahoo is bought by Microsoft it won't do too much. Google will counter-buy another company and so the giants will carry on their war. Microsoft vs Google will be the the conflict that commences this century and it will be big.
The other thing about Google is that it functions better than yahoo has in years.
Well, when you can't find customers...buy some. Microsoft has been trying since Win 95 to be the number on internet hub/portal and still hasn't been successful. Can't they see that people don't want Microsoft everything?
I want Google everything.
After seeing ads during a video feed on NBC.com, I recently switched to Ask.com and prefer it. It has a few nuances that greatly appeal to me.
