Saying it now, if this goes live I'm more than likely canceling. The fact he has the gall to tell us it's probably going live after keeping the blaster and stalker changes from going live till they were "perfect" irks me to a degree only states could pull off before. I'll have to do more testing to be 100% sure of my thoughts, since the copy tool is down I've only been able to do tests with older version of the two Ver's, but so far the change to Rage has proven to be complete and utter crap. Especially to my brute who was already an end whore to begin with.
Been burnt out as it was, having 3 of my favorite toons screwed over like this isn't helping them get any more of my money.

It does sound over-complicated and excessive, based on what I've been able to gather from the forum. 10 seconds of 'crash' would have been more than plenty, methinks. If the average time to get back up to fighting strength is 30 seconds of inactivity, based on one person's analysis, that's way, way too long.
I don't have any SS high enough to use Rage, so it doesn't directly impact me. Heck, I only have one SS Tank I even care about at the moment. I don't get why the devs think this power is out-of-balance, except what I've read about double stacking Rage.
Seems to me that they could have addressed the issue they wanted to address by implementing the crash with a sharp reduction in damage and recovery (maybe even keep the defense debuffs) without actually cancelling recovery. There are other alpha powers in other powersets that have severe penalties for using them, but those powers have pretty devastating effects (EM Pulse, for example). If double-stacking Rage was a problem, they could have simply reduced the duration and increased the recharge on it to make it nigh impossible to run it that way, right?

Just got through testing the new Rage. Out of all the complaints I've read the #1 issue for me is the end crash. Everything else it ok. Keeping aggro, being able to attack, hell I'm even ok with the 15 seconds. The end crash is just too steep though.
The very first time I tested the crash was fighting a +2 mob of Carnies. Usually I would just wait out the crash and resume attacking after. This time the end crash took out all my toggles and left me with a debuff that quickly got me creamed. After that experience I added a extra endurance SO to all my attacks. Adding those End SO's makes it even more necessary that I use Rage because I had to delete Damage SO's to slot them. :banghead:
The next mob that I faced with the crash I survived for the most part. Didn't lose any toggles and was able to spam Taunt to hold aggro.
Being told that a Dev knows there's problems with Rage but they are pushing it through anyway is tough. Also hearing that we will have to live with this on the Live servers until issue 12 just plain sucks. I have a SS/Elec Brute that I just got lined out. He just worked through his stamina problems. With this change he'll be practically unplayable. That makes Em sad.

From the sound of it he's just switching the -rec back to -20% defense. We'll still get the -999% damage and the 25 end drop, but Invinc and RTTC will keep working, as will any taunt effects from Taunt and attacks. But the "Only Affecting Self" is gone. He hasn't confirmed if the duration will still be 15 seconds.
That's great then. The -rec was killing my tank and I know it would have done worse things to my Brute.

I didn't even know there was a perceived issue. The current crash alone was enough to make me 'spec out of Rage. :huh:
