Title: Comic Collector Live
Post by: vortex on January 27, 2008, 07:28:57 PM
Has anybody else here been to this site?  Basically, you dl their software for free, and it allows you to inventory your whole comic collection (if you so choose) on your computer. In addition, you can make a 'Wish List' of any comics that you are missing and whenever a seller has that comic in stock you get a notice that you can click on which tells you all the stores which are selling it and has links to take you to their stores. Once inside somebody's store, you can either browse through their entire inventory, search for specific titles, or there's even a column which tells you the items they carry from your 'Wish List'.

Anyhow, here's a linky: http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/ (http://www.comiccollectorlive.com/)

I'll have to take a look at this myself...

I have a huge comic collection that my wife wants me to slim down quite a bit.. especially since I started replacing my collection with digital versions on DVD (a big thanks to Amazon.com and eBay) and TPB/Hardback editions. Hopefully that might encourage me to start trading or selling off the comics that I hardly read anymore and get some stuff that might fit better on my bookshelves.

It's bad enough when my storage room is now called "The Maze" because of all of the comic boxes that I keep stacked in there.

It's a lot cheaper than selling them on E-Bay!  There are basically 2 packages for sellers to choose from.  The first has no monthly fee, but charges .25 cents listing fee/comic.  The second has a $15 monthly fee, but the listing fee is only .01 cent/ comic.  Both packages charge 5% of the sale value.  With a lage collection like yours, I'd definitely go with the second option because after listing 65 comics it's already cheaper for the first month.
