With 'Secret Invasion' looming, and two heroes having been 'outed' as Skrulls...
Elektra, and Black Bolt (or at least the Black Bolt that showed up at the end of Illuminati, and perhaps the same one that Hulk beat down in WW Hulk?)
...Who do you think is a Skrull and why? And conversely who isn't, and why? Supposedly, all the clues are out there.
My choices - (and I've placed 'Spoilers' on anything recent, just in case you haven't read them yet.)
Skrulls:
Jarvis - He would be ideally placed to spy upon and cause havok internally with the Avengers (all incarnations: Regular, New, Mighty and Decaf), also
he gives quite the dirty look aside when Jessica Drew is brought back into the fold in the most recent Mighty Avengers. Anyone else notice that? (While Tony's mumbling 'one of you's a Skrull' in his head?) Too obvious?
Ms. Jones/Mrs. Cage - Maybe. Their baby had some Skrully green eyed thing going on back in New Avengers #22 (i think that was the issue) or thereabouts. So it's either her, or her baby Daddy (which I'm not buying into - or maybe it's just the baby, but what would be the point of that?)
Mrs. Sentry (Libby) -
She dies, she lives again (which no one seems aware of). Sentry "brought her back" - can he do that? Maybe he just thinks he did - he is schizo. Then she pleads with Tony to kill Bobby, before he kills them all. Maybe Sentry's the Skrull...Nah!
Natasha/Black Widow: I don't have any specific reason, she just feels 'Skrully' to me. She's close to Tony, heavily involved with SHIELD as well. Good place for a mole. Plus:
she was the only one to get really mad about bringing Drew back into the fold. The Wasp...not so much.
Maria Hill: She always seemed a little too gung ho about the whole Registration thing to me.
Nitro: He started the whole Civil War/SRA by blowing up Stamford and 800 or so people....very convienient.
Reed Richards: He deduces mathematically (?!) that a Stamford type incident was 'waiting to happen' and we need an SRA, he creates a prison for all the anti-registration heroes (which is where I think all the Skrull replaced heroes are stashed), doesn't visit Johnny in the hospital (during Civil War), single handedly breaks up the FF, was a member of the Illuminati, and the Skrulls already hate him. They've simulated his powers before. How much delicious irony for them to use him to take over Earth? I'm thinking it's an even money bet here.
The Red Skull (Skrull?): He had Sharon murder Cap, he has plans for world domination. The whole taking over/inhabiting Lukin's body always seemed 'Skrully' to me.
Dr. Strange: I wouldn't have thought it, until he does his magic mumbo jumbo and tells all the New Avengers they are not Skrulls. Who says he's not one? There's gotta be at least one on the NAv team.
Ares: ??
I liked him until his whole creepy "Magnificent Creature! She will be mine!" thing with Jessica Drew, and a few other thing his thought balloons revealed.
Not Skrulls:
Jessica Drew: She brings Tony the dead Elektra Skrull. 'nuff said.
Tony Stark: Too obvious. He's gonna look like an even bigger sucker when he finds out he's been manipulated into the whole SRA/Civil War.
Luke Cage: After New Avengers #22, when SHIELD comes calling and he pretty much takes them down single-handedly (one of my fave books of the past year!), I don't want to belive it.
I think we can pretty much rule out Spidey (with everything going on in his books, it just wouln't make any sense), Wolverine (since he thought Jessica was a Skrull in that whole equally creepy shower scene), Winter Soldier, and Ms. Marvel as well.
And if Captain Mar-vell turns out to be a Skrull, I'm doing a drive-by on Bendis. I'm so pumped he's back! (Mar-vel that is - not Bendis!)
Really, who cares?
This has already been stretched out for six months or more, with another year and a half to go.
Boooooooooooooooooooooooooring.
The idea is worth three 20page comics, tops.
Instead we get two years of Bendis typing the word "Skrully" 40,0000 times.
Meh.
Well, me for one.
Dude, why so harsh? I mean, if it didn't interest you, couldn't you just not have posted?
What's up with that?

Sorry, you asked a question, I answered it.
Look, I'll make up for it now;
OOo! Oo! It's SO interesting, lets endlessly talk about all of Bendis' comics to work out whos a skrull! Oh, the intrigue! The carefully crafted cleverness of it all! I think its Hitler! And Stalin! And Jesus! They are all skrulls! Bendis is a genius! He writes so realistically!
Happier now?
Yes, that was super mature. Good job.
Ignoring the random unwarranted negativity,
I really don't have any interest in the storyline myself. I've never been a huge fan of the skrulls to begin with and them being around provides a convenient excuse for bad writing imo. Hopefully all this hype will pay off unlike several other marvel events.
that secondpost from tommyboy is quite possibly the most tasteless thing i've seen in the history of FR...
I'm more curious to know where the people are the skrulls are impersonating. The smart thing would be to kill them but they are probably prisoners and will be rescued. I would personally like to see them hidden in some secret area of that negative zone prison
Let's keep on the topic. If you have nothing to add then don't post and move along. Thank you.
I know there's supposed to be a skrull in the Initiative and one in Ms Marvel's book. I've heard speculation it's War Machine.
I will stat that I don't have much interest in this story, but the only thing I'm really concerned about is how far back this is going to go. It could really screw with Marvel history.
I have semi interest in wondering how it will unfold but not enough interest to actually buy the books. All I can say is after reading about spider-man I dont think this will be as horrific. But it could always be worse, we could find out Reed has been a skrull before he married Sue so now that marriage will be disolved and franlkin is half skrull
Certain characters just shouldn't be skrulls, because if the skrulls are capable of duplicating those characters' powers, than they wouldn't need to be all sneaky, they could just give a bunch of skrulls those powers and forget subtlety - characters like Sentry, Hulk, Professor X, current Tony Stark, and a few others.
I'm pretty much on the fence with this whole Secret Invasion thing anyway... Quesada has already established that his whole goal is putting those "Genies Back In The Bottle" and this final arc will probably tie the whole Marvelverse into the Annihilation crossover by the end of the whole thing. What will happen at the end is anyones guess... but I'm sure that lots of characters will end up flip-flopping all over the place as to weither they are dead or alive much less being a skrull spy.
The characters most likely to be Skrull (like I said in another post somewhere) are support staff in SHIELD, The Avengers Tower (possibly Jarvis and Sentry's wife), and one in each state hero group of The Initiative. We already know that Damage Control is corrupted somehow by providing power boosters for villians and having their own title returning as part of AfterSmash would make it an obvious key to how they might influence the battles to come. The Skrulls most likely have been setting themselves up for years in key places so they could gather a database on superhero/supervillian DNA (for their Super Skrulls to use to duplicate powers) and slowly placing cracks in the foundation of defense systems so when they did reveal themselves it would be already too late. Plus if you think back to the War Skrulls showing up in the X-Men titles they already have been experimenting with new ways to alter their own bodies so that failsafe plans would be useless - such as Power Nullifying their whole race. If Reed Richards is a Skrull after all then that whole "nullify" plan was just a ruse to go into hiding until the big plan was ready.
I'm still wondering if The Ultimatium event, Secret Invasion, and Annihilation will all end up with The Marvel Multiverse undergoing a "Big Bang" (the whole Universe blows up or falls apart or whatever) event and end up rebooting itself with all titles back at Issue One (heck Spider-Man is half-way there now) and Quesada sitting in Stan Lee's desk laughing himself silly throwing money out of big overflowing sacks.
Now I'm saying that because "Magic" is what returned the Mutants to a struggling race, Spider-Man back into a single guy with mechanical web shooters, and was just used as a key element in Ultimate Power by showing that Scarlet Witch's power was too unstable and uber powerful even in that universe. I can see it now - Scarlet Witch is forced to undo everything to save Earth from a massive invasion and the multiverse that her magic weaves thru is ripped apart.

If that happens I'm going to find Joe and kick him in the shin.
I suspect Secret Invasion will undue Civil War.
I betcha Willie Lumpkin is a skrull. That ear-wiggling is mighty suspicious.
I'm betting that the Captain America that got killed was a Skrull.
What a way to bring back Steve Rogers.
How delicious would it be if a Skrull was posing as Aunt May and Peter made a deal with Mephisto to save her...LOL! I wouldn't be surprised. Mmmmm...Skrully wheatcakes.
Anyway...
My list of Skrulls...
Jarvis (close to the Avengers and can observe and manipulate Tony and his crew)
Aunt May (because...Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!)
Jessica Jones and her baby (Baby had glowing green eyes, which is weird, because Skrulls have red eyes...Whatever)
U.S.Agent (Cause he's a jerk...Oh wait...Nevermind)
I know there's gotta be some in S.H.I.E.L.D....I don't think Maria Hill is one, though...I do believe she's been manipulated by them.
The President of the United States...Seriously...He gave Hill the order to enforce the SHRA and he even seemed to act like costumed heroes were his enemies.
Alpha Flight (killed by the Collective....I can dream, can't I?)
Pretty much any character who:
a) is dead but the writer's decide needs a dust-off and relaunch.
b) has been written out-of-character to a degree where fans have been turned off.
So Ironman, Reed Richards, Sabretooth, Quasar, Jessica Jones (post-Alias), etc...

yeah but one can wish.
I would be happy if it brought Sabertooth back. I really dislike how he died but I am pretty sure it wont bring him back.
As I said in The other thread, Jarvis for the same reasons everyone else thinks.
Black Widow- Seemed pretty suspicious to me.
Various Shield and Initiative members.
The Red Hood?- He's awfully powerful now.
Sentry's wife- That is a sudden change in attitude for her.
it's Joe Quesada, he's on a mission to destroy the marvel universe
Leifeld too. I can't wait for Secret Invasion Reborn.

Actually, I'm secretly hoping that MJ was a Skrull. Would it make it better. It would for me!
Black Widow sure seemed suspicious lately when
Luke Cage blabbed about it to all of Tony's Avengers
. But, when DOESN'T she seem suspicious?
Here's my idea:
The entire MU populace, sans heroes and most villains are skrulls. The real humans have been replaced/enslaved. This would "explain" why the public which had loved its heroes to this point suddenly and violently decried those who don't register.

Kinda like that. Anyway to me its just like the old DC Manhunters were hidden everywhere with just as implausible unlikely people being the secret enemy. If the MU universe weren't so broken it would do serious damage to credibility. Now ,heck just go for it.

Actually, a couple years back, Wolverine got replaced by a Skrull while the X-Men were gallavanting through space, and then that Skrull got killed. But Prof X and Beast had to go out of their way to re-morph the body back into a Skrull; it remained in "wolvie form" for several days until they did that.
It would be nice if they would just stick to one method/effect when a Skrull dies, but I doubt they will.
Anyhoo...
If you are reading the new Captain Marvel mini, there are Skrulls a-plenty.
He has been the object of a religious cult, due to his resurrection. At least one of these followers has died and become Skrully. Some of the other members were quite shocked at this, but are trying to keep it quiet.
Mar-Vell and Iron Man were attacked by a Battallion of Kree soldiers, who were revealed to be Skrulls.
Cap Marv used his cosmic awareness to try to puncture holes in his memory, and discovered a memory of being held captive by Skrulls.
Also, he has been attacked by super-villains that are dead, the original Cyclone and Cobalt Man (who died in the Stamford incident). Mar-Vell confronted Cobalt Man in custody and the villain revealed himself to be also a Skrull. Then he told Mar-Vell that he wasn't really Mar-Vell.
SO...if this is true and Mar-Vell is a Skrull, then the Skrulls are not only able to copy the powers of the heroes, but also their memories, to the point that they themselves don't necessarilly know they aren't the genuine article. Prior to this, I had assumed that anyone with a solo book were pretty much immune to this, because we were privy to their inner thoughts and private lives and stuff.
so that means...PROTO IS A SKRULL! I always knew something was up with you...now the truth is out. The green, scaly, evil truth is out and you must pay!
...
right now, there's too many possibilities and this event is kinda blah to me...still. If I combine this with a certain issue of She-hulk (with the alternate universe) then...everyone could be a skrull spanning two universes! *kills them all*
Well, at least I'm not a clone. I don't think H.A.M.S.T.E.R. goes after Skrulls.
Of course, if I were, I wouldn't necessarally know about it. Y'know, with the whole brainwashing thing.

Let's just say these images don't make me want to rush out and find out what's going on.
Given the things that these 3 characters went through lately in their own titles, the only one that seems even possible is Hawkeye. They are trying to make paranoia and suspicion the rule of the day with this series.
Yeah, Wolverine & Thor being skrulls makes very little sense given their solo books. I mean, even assuming the skrulls are doing mind-implants so that the skrulls don't even know they're skrulls, both Wolverine & Thor have extremely long histories (hundreds/thousands of years!) that they clearly remember (both have had a lot of flashbacks lately).

it could just be new avengers wolverine who is the skrull... validating the point that he is on so many teams...
Um, that first teaser image was a Skrully Hercules. Didn't see Thor in there.
Either way, I'm not sure how a Skrull could possibly pose as either a Norse or Greek demigod. At some point someone in those mythical pantheons would have figured it out by magical means.
But Marvel has demonstrated that a story doesn't have to make sense to publish, so who knows?
So this is how Marvel's bringing back Jean Grey? Come on.

I have serious doubts on that one.
Yeah...I think Iron Man/Tony Stark's been totally manipulated by them (the President is one, maybe even Miriam Sharpe)...I don't think he is a Skrull, though.
I've going to throw Namorita in there as well ... the Skrulls have to be behind Civil War.
Perhaps Mary Jane, Cable and Gambit? No reasons, just wanted to type those names.
It won't be Cable for sure.
I'm not really getting into this storyline, but here's a few predictions:
Strong Guy. I dunno, I just don't think he's been acting... right. Plus, someone in X- Factor has to be one, if for nothing else than to tie it into the series.
Luke Cage. His "I'm not a Skrull, and I'll argue with everyone, Skrull or Not" seems a bit suspicious.
Spider- Woman. Never thought her story sounded right.
Sentry. Same as above.
Henry Gyrich. It'd just make sense.
Jarvis. C'mon, he was attracted to Aunt May. Aunt May!
Wolverine. Hear me out- there's more than one. Either X-Men's (X-Force) or New Avengers is all Skrully.
I like some of your suggestions, Hitman (Jarvis could be one...but him being attracted to Aunt May isn't the reason I suspect him. They're about the same age, no? Doesn't matter...Aunt May moved on since she doesnt remember him probably...which...*stops*).
I don't know about Sentry though. I mean, he technically shouldn't even be active anymore considering WWH...I know for sure that WWH happens before secret invasion...so...dannit [sic] Marvel and your confusing timeline! You're too event happy and everything is literally running together. *throws a book*
i have reason to believe that my neighbor, soon to be former neighbor, across the way from me is a skrull
huh, what??
Teddy Altman's a Skrull, I can guarantee that. Just you watch and see. :P
The adjective form of Kree is kreevian.
Other than that, I can't keep up with this conversation. Last I heard Cap was dead and Iron Man was a grade-A jerk. After that point, I'm lost.
There are too many gimmicky "events" and they all flow into one another. I quit buying comics when $2.50 was too much to pay for a regular issue. I'm sure as hell not going to pay for that on top of gap-filling one-shots and excessive crossovers. *Head spins*
But yeah. Kreevian.
