Title: question about setting up a forum or a private of a site
Post by: Mr. Hamrick on December 28, 2007, 10:01:53 PM
I was chatting with a colleague today and the topic came up about setting up either a "forum" similar to this one where a group of actors could communicate about some up coming project stuff that we don't want public or a private section of a web site (I was speaking of mine in this instance) where we could do the same.

I was thinking that a forum might be a better place to do that.  However, I wasn't sure.  Could anyone here contact me via messenger and help me figure this matter out.  We'd like to have something put together by next week.

Thanks gang.

My webhost has an automated installer for PHPBB (FR used it from 2003-2004 or so), which can be set up with private forums. Does yours have anything like that?

I'm not sure.  my host is www.bluehost.com (http://www.bluehost.com) if that helps any.  The bigger issue is that I have no clue how to set the thing up.  I know enough web design to get my site up and running and stream movies.  That's it.   :(

Well, Bluehost's website seems to inicate that your hosting supports both PHPBB and SMF forums, however I couldn't find out exactly how. Try posting here (http://www.bluehostforum.com/).

or just go somewhere like the smf website and manually download and install on your webspace :)
