Since Halloween is just around the corner, how about this?
If you were invited by a friend to a Halloween costume party? What particular halloween costume would you like to wear for the event? ^_^
Me? I think the Scream villain costume would be cool. :P

Haha, around here there is no "what would..." as far as Halloween is concerned; people put together some kickass Halloween costumes. ^_^
Myself, I'm going to be becoming the Joker, in a portrayal that's a sort of blend of both movie versions and Frank Miller's rendition... oh, and with just a touch of Mr. Zsaz. :P
Basically imagine a purple suit that's been slashed up and then stitched back together with black thread.. couple it with a hideous bright green shirt.. and, uh, yeah.
Oh. And a big knife.
I'm most excited about the makeup, though.. I've been experimenting with latex and 3D gels to achieve some exxxxcellent scarring effects... I'm quite excited. ^_^
Hehe, I can't wait to hear what other people have this year...

...oh god, scary thoughts...
*bangs head on desk*
I'm thinking of going as King Leonidus from the movie 300. It just gives me an excuse to yell "THIS IS SPARTA!!" a dozen times over.
You just wanna dress in public in your favourite brown leather underwear, spam.
*see av pic*

...naughty spuddy.. that's what you get for thinking dirty things. :P
I will be donning my X-men 3 Magneto costume from last year, but with a WAY better, NEW helmet. I'll be taking photos..
If I ever get some free time, I'm gonna make a faux bloody shirt. Cause people think I'm weird and/or creepy anyways. Hell, I could wear it to class.
If I ever get some free time.
Me and 3 of my friends are going as Alex and his Droogies from A Clockwork Orange.
I hope a lot of you post some pics! We should see who's the most hardcore costume-er.
Like our good man Cardmaster I too am going as The Joker. At first I was going to try for the classic look with the purple suit jacket and pants... but couldn't find anything even close enough around here. So instead I'm going for a still incarcerated Joker... I found a straight jacket costume and painted Arkham Asylum on the front of it. I just picked up some white powder clown face makeup at Wal-Mart for mine... probably not going to look near as cool as CMs.
Whom is wise enough to dress in DOOM's visage? All others shall be smote!
-DOOM
:doom2:
Smote? Smitten surely? I know I am... C'mere ya big lug!
*destroys The Phantom Eyebrow*
-DOOM!
:doom2:
LA PARKA!
I'd go as Robin the boy wonder... as Colossus would be too difficult to do.
It would appear that I shall be going as V.
Hopefully...

let me know what you come up with. I have a few friends who are special effects make-up artists who I might can solicit to give you some advice.

If I had time, I'd make a Robin costume (like the one from Grayson) and the wife would be going as Batgirl. However...doesn't look like it's going to materialize this year.
I'm currently searching for a ninja mask and a Jedi Robe so I can make the altogether cheap pun of being Obi Wan Shinobi.
I don't don't yet, I'm going out with three women at the same time that night and they are going to decide my costume for me. Since I just lost my job a couple of weeks ago so my Boss could hire his brother, they are also suppying me my costume. Whatever it is, I'm stuck wearing if I want to go out on Halloween night since they are also paying for my drinks that night too.

Some guys get all the breaks . . .
This is the mask I just bought, just snapped a pic of it...

Think of it with a suit, red shirt and a black tie.
I just got back from the costume party... here's a couple of pics of how my costume turned out.

Here: try my 5-second ninja mask.
Take a smaller black tshirt, and put it over your head as you normally would, but don't pop you head through the hole, just line it up with your eyes. then tie the two sleeves together in the back.
It looks alright (as you can see here ) and it's usually the disguise i wear when i go into throwdown pits.
(http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/1394/p071021007ov8.jpg)just took these really quick with my phone as an example(http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/3140/p071021006nc1.jpg)
:P
ahh fair enough
The costume I was working on is still not done (too many RL things keep getting in the way of me and the sewing machine) but it's jsut as well since I'm hosting a halloween party, a floor lenght gown wouldn't be conducive for serving punch and finger sandwiches. I'm probably going to go with my WWII pulp hero girl costume (picture as soon as I get home)
I'll be either a pirate (again) or Cyclops from the X- Men movies.
This year, I am going as a samurai (surprisingly, I have never done that before) and my girlfriend is going as a ninja. I have a keikogi and hakama, although I don't know how the host will react to my carrying a sword that isn't plastic.

In some states you are allowed to carry it as long as its out in the open and the blade has never been sharpened.
I'm not worried about the law, just about not offending the host. As I will only be at the costume party with the sword, the law isn't really a concern. But I always like to show good manners to my host. It is his home after all.

Graciously, of course. :D
Thought I'd show you guys some WIP shots...
I decided to use my time between classes today to work on my costume a bit.. I only had the yarn from a little pocket sewing kit, so it ran out pretty fast.. I only had enough to do a first pass on the coat; hopefully I'll have about 3 times as much on the coat, and an even amount on the pants..
Here's the full getup...

And here's a closeup of the coat..

Yep yep.. fun stuff! I knew sewing badly would come in handy someday. :P
Oh, the only thing I have left to get my hands on is I'm waiting for my acidic green button-up shirt to arrive..

I was just told last night that after sewing up the costume the women had got for me so it would fit me it got accidently thrown away awhle cleaning up the house yesterday. I've been told not to worry because they will figure out someting for me to wear. If you think I was worried about what they had chosen for me to wear, now i'm really worried about what I may look like this Saturday night at the Halloween Party.
