Who's interested in doing an artistic challenge that would involve producing both a skin and a mesh ('skoped or exported from 3ds max) for the same character? Several members here are talented skinners who have also become rather NIFSkope savvy, so I doubt it would be too much of a challenge to do character submissions from the ground up. Whose game?
Proposed Theme (completely open to discussion and revision): Avatars Assembled! - With no apologies whatsoever to certain Marvel Comics writers who shall remain nameless, I have proposed that we envision what a team of our avatars would resemble if we shared a loose costume/uniform theme (e.g., colour scheme, insignia, accoutrement, etc.). Earth's Mightiest Avatars...redesigned!
Here are the rules I have suggested (completely open to discussion and revision):
1. No time limit. Everyone is always already in the midst of something else. Why take on extra pressure to deliver in, e.g., 30 days?
2. Avatar assignments drawn at random. No dibs or skinning/'skoping/meshing your own. 'Nuff said.
3. Colour scheme, insignia, etc. preselected by participant ballot. We could vote upon a range of different colours for use to avoid being too restrictive. The insignia, if any, could be posted and selected by vote as well. Any more details about the theme could also be open to suggestion/vote.
4. 'Skoping/hexxing would observe the rules governing permissions granted or denied by original meshers. 'Nuff said.
5. Participants would provide reference pics of their own avatars. Links to extant avatar skins, Microheroes, forum avatars, illustrations, etc. would prove useful to some, if not all, of the participants. These items should be posted in this thread (http://meshmatters.awardspace.com/forum/index.php?topic=80.0) at the time that one announces one's intention to participate.
6. Finished products would be hosted for download on a voluntary basis. I would be happy to host the finished products at Melmoth Hall, but I won't force anyone to make his skin/'skope/mesh available to the general public on my site or anywhere else.
style has suggested that we allow collaborations between hexxers/'Skopers/meshers and skinners--which sounds like good fun--but we've yet to discover the best way to make this work so that each participant receives a new version of his or her avatar. It might mean assigning two avatars to each collaboration of two, but anyone with better suggestions--or better mathematics skills--should speak up.

No time limit? Awesome! Since I'm so busy with school and life and dren, I haven't had a lot of time. I basically skin and mesh never. I barely even draw super hero doodles.
That being said... I effin' love team costumes. They are great, and it's fun to see how differen characters (and artists) can interpret the same basic costume. It may be a bit of a hassle to choose the basic costume, however. I will make suggestions hopefully soon.
Since I've been gone so long though, I totally forget my meshmatters password. Insanity. So I'll have to post over there later.

... what?
We appear to be rapidly approaching a consensus on the design template for this challenge. If you would like to participate, stop by MeshMatters (http://meshmatters.awardspace.com/forum) soon and sign up for the event in this thread (http://meshmatters.awardspace.com/forum/index.php?topic=80.0). :)

If anyone wants to include BG, you have my full permission. :D
In case others are strongly considering participating in this event, I would urge those people to sign up. We currently have an odd number of participants, and we could use at least one other participant to even out the avatar assignments. Thanks! :)

Hey Unko...did you design that team costume? If so, nice work mate!
It was a group effort, I just drew the final composite. Bits and pieces from everybody's designs in this!
