Title: Dan Slott is a genius
Post by: bredon7777 on September 12, 2007, 09:10:20 PM
In his last issue of She-Hulk, he gave Marvel an out for 99% of the Civil War nonsense...

[spoiler]
You see there was this alternate Earth who were morphing their citizens into exact duplicates of our heroes and teleporting them over here...

So, the Civil War, and all the ensuing nonsense was caused by the duplicates!  Thats why some of them have been acting way out of character.

Yeah, I loved what they did with the Young Avengers....

[spoiler]Hulking (real one): "You registered? You joined the army under our names?"
Wiccan (real one): "We're in the Inititive? What idiot thought that was a good idea?"

Makes sense. Rhino was first shown in a wheel chair (In a Punisher War Journal issue), and then soon after was fit and well enough to be captured by Deadpool, and then shortly after captured by the (New) New Warriors.

But what about Taskmaster? He was shown being taken into a portal to the prison in the Negative Zone in Civil War 7, and then he was later seen being transported in a van outside the Negative Zone. What's up with that?

Oh god, I loved it even though it implied that Nextwave doesn't take place 616...

Eh, nextwave was full of continuity problems anyways so all it means is that I cant use it as a great example of saying "forget continuity and write a great story" as they had done. And yeah, I loved the crack about Rhino getting captured for like the 7th time that week.

Nextwave is the only Earth-616-based story since Secret War. All the other books are Skrulls. Example: All the Deadpool-based stories in Cable & Deadpool have been taking place on Earth-Awesome.
