Title: new New Warriors...
Post by: Intensity on September 11, 2007, 09:43:52 PM
so, New Warriors volume 4, #4 has been out for about a week.  After giving this series some time to sink in, I've decided that I'm growing more and more hooked with each passing issue.

the characters of the team so far consist of a guy claiming to be Night Thrasher, as well as several de-powered mutant teens/young adults.  Jubilee from the X-Men and Generation X is a main protagonist of the story, leading the team in field training and is Night Thrasher's second in command.  She goes by the name of Wondra and has massive superhuman strength from tech gloves.
Chamber of Generation X was just revealed to be in the series, and has sonic powers and force fields... now named Decibel.  Both Beak and his girlfriend Angel are in the series as well with different powers, and Sophia/Wind Dancer is a main point of view character.

The basic plot involves the team resisting Iron Man's hero registration act and deciding to be superheroes the old fashioned way... with detectives and S.H.I.E.L.D. right on their tales, the series is turning out to be one of the most diverse comics to come out of Marvel's Civil War series.

If you are a fan of underused characters like Jubilee or Chamber, I'd suggest trying this series out.

also, discuss your likes and dislikes if you have read the issues yet.  :)

I am also really hooked on this series as well. I do have a theory on who Night Thrasher is now based on the last page of issue #3 and what happened in issue #4. I really liked the whole Sofia/Wind Dancer being the focal point in the first couple of issues. It really built up the mystery of who the New Warriors were since they weren't exactly being showcased.

My "Night Thrasher's secret identity" theory:

Rumour has it that the brother and sister (Longstrike who died last issue) are Tatoo and Radian from the Omega gang.

That would make sense but I don't think they were brother and sister.

Yeah I've heard that too. My understanding is it was never said either way.
