Title: Blade(w/sword)
Post by: N-Lightner on September 10, 2007, 09:39:33 PM
I would like help in finding a Blade mesh/skin that has a sword built-in. I have a Casanova skin on a male hunter mesh which is pretty much perfect but it does not appear in the game/Character Tool with a sword(s).Any form of help in is ALWAYS appreciated.

The hunter DOES have a sword, but you may have gotten ahold of a hexed version.  You could probably fix that very easily with nifskope.  I'd suggest checking out the tutorial on the FF wiki.

The male hunter mesh that I have has a sword that shows up when using the STANDARD skin, but not when I switch to the Casanova skin, oddly enough.

Sure it is.....I just hide my fangs and tattoos. Here I go killing the walking dead...I such a self-loathing vampire. :(  Damn me. Hey about a year or so ago somebody used my AV for a character that was  a former boxer with electrical powers...go figure?  :P

The swords are still there, they've just been alpha'd out.  It's an easy fix, but back up everything before you start.

1) Open trenchcoat.tga for the casanova skin.  If you have photoshop, open your "layers, channels, and paths" window, and select "channels".  You should see five "channels": "RGB", "Red", "Green", "Blue", and "Alpha".  You'll note the alpha channel is black with a white outline where the trenchcoat texture appears.  Everything in black is invisible in the game, everything in white is not.

2) Select and copy the trenchcoat texture from trenchcoat.tga (it's the only texture there)

3) Open trenchcoat.tga for the standard skin.  Note the alpha channel on this one.  If it's there, you should see outlines of both the trenchcoat and the swords in white, everything else in black.

4) Paste the trenchcoat texture onto the standard skins trenchcoat.tga, making sure to line it up in the correct location.  Save your work as trenchcoat.tga and move into the casanova folder.

That's it.  Check it out in the character tool and you should see the swords.

Or you could just get ahold of a copy of the Marvel Knights mod.  There's a skin of Blade in there, on that mesh I'm pretty sure.

I don't have Photoshop in any form...yet. To make it easier can any just send Blade to me? Addy: simpleflemings7@peoplepc.com. BTW, where is the Marvel Knights mod located?
