Well, that always depends on one's definition of funny, as well as whether you're looking for a non-stop laugh riot, or a decent amount of humor interspersed between segments of straightforward action.

I can make the following suggestions for the PS2:

The Ratchet & Clank series tends to have a lot of humor in the animated clips that show between the long stretches of action.
Random quote:  "Welcome to Thugs 4 Less!  If It Ain't Broke... We'll Break It!"

The Bard's Tale is an overhead view, action-oriented RPG with a snarky main character who sometimes has humorous conversations with the narrator.  (The narrator is voiced by Tony Jay, and the Bard is voiced by Cary Elwes, the guy who played Westley in the Princess Bride, though you wouldn't guess it from hearing him.)
Random quote:
Narrator: Having slain the random wolf, the bard discovered that not only had it digested the contents of a small treasury, but also several household goods...  Wait a minute - I can't possibly be reading this properly!
The Bard: Oh, you'd be surprised at the kinds of things you can find in animals.  One time, I killed a rat, and out popped an entire chest!
Narrator: Yes... Well, I think I'll just skip reading those passages in the future.
The Bard: What?  That's a major source of income, you cheap bastard!

That's also true.  I totally forgot about Psychonauts.  That has some seriously good humor in it.

I just started playing this one.  It is really funny.  And pretty good gameplay so far.

Other recommendations:
Oldschool - Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max Hit the Road, Hitchhikers Guide teo the Galaxy (Infocom), Monkey Island series, Space Quest Series
Newer - Disgaea II, Psychonauts, Sam & Max Season 1

(will add more as memory allows)

-Day of the Tentacle
-Sam and Max Hit the Road
-Sam and Max season 1
-The Monkey Island series (especially Curse of Monkey Island. One of the most hilarious games I've ever played)
-The Bard's Tale
-Grim Fandango
-Bully on the PS2 is pretty funny on a level of satire.

games I've laughed the hardest at were definitely Monkey Island and Sam & Max. But those (as well as most of the ones I've listed) are point-n-click PC adventure games.

Couldn`t agree more with the choice.
I also laughed at Giants: Citizen Kabuto and Stupid Invaders

OMG, i had almost forgotten Day of the Tenticle.  That truly was a hilarious game.  My favorite old comedy game has to be Sam & Max as stated above.

have you tried ScummVM? If you haven't heard of it, it's a program that allows you to run old-school adventure games on XP (like Day of the Tentacle, Sam & Max, etc). This might be able to work with Zak McKracken. I haven't tried it, but if you own the game on an old-school hard disc, it might work with ScummVM.

Almost forgot to mention the Space Quest series. I'm only familiar with one of them though, and that's Space Quest VI: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier. Another hilarious game.

here's another one that isn't very well known. Armed & Dangerous. You can find it on PC and Xbox. I have the Xbox version. It's a third person shooter by LucasArts with fairly dry, British humor. Fair warning though, the graphics are awful. :/

I always thought the DJs and faux ads on the radio in the Grand Theft Auto series were hilarious. Garth Ennis' dialogue in The Punisher was pretty funny, too, in a swear-laden Quentin Tarantino kind of way.

The one above all: Conker bad fur day!

Not only is it quite possibly the most hilarious title ever created, but the selection of crude jokes, over-the-top violence and sexual content featured is only one-upped by the game's remarkably deep, well-paced level design, tightly knitted control mechanics, beautiful graphics and amazing sound quality.

The Neverhood. Fun Claymation game in a similar style to the Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island and Space Quest games.

Yep. The 3d one where the lead designer left, and took all the good jokes with him.

Sigh.

Wow, I totally forgot about that game. I wonder why the franchise stopped abruptly, it was selling pretty well and getting good press in even the snobbiest PC enthusiast magazines.

Eh, I thought it was pretty good (the time swamp was brilliant)- then they had to go and kill all the momentum dead with Monkey Kombat.

MI4 had some good moments, but the game mostly--well--didn't feel like Monkey Island.  I hated how Guybrush was always been insulted and made fun of.  And I don't mean in a fun or silly way like in the past games.  It's like the people making the game actually hate the character or something.

The Guybrush I know was witty funny and likeable.  I think they replace his with a zombie or something.

Of course, that's just the first of many, many problems with it.

Curse of Monkey Island, however, got it all right.  The cartoon look is perfect, and the voice acting and writing were both fantastic.  Plus, you've got to love Murray!

I actually remember seeing Neverhood.  Very strange game.

EDIT:  I just found out that Neverhood is apparently being adapted into an animated movie.

Also, I've seen the Earthworm Jim games.  Wacky, funny stuff, there.

What!!!!

No Zork Grand inquisitor, that game is a classic. Actually it's the first game I fell of my chair at (literally). Sadly it doesn't run on anything other than win98.

By the way Outcast , why this question?^^
2 reasons:

1.Most of the games I have are usually action, horror, fantasy games. So I wanted to experience something different i guess. Something that would make me laugh for a change. I kept wondering whether if there ever were games that could actually do that. :P

2.I thought it might be a good topic for this forum as well. You know, contribute a little to this community. :) Coz, I'm not much of a skinner or a mesher at all. I wish I were as good as some of you are though. :banghead: Anyways,I really enjoy it when there is a lot of feedback. So if there are more titles you could suggest, keep em coming. The more choices, the merrier. Thanks a bunch!

I knew that. I'm very interested. I loved the Neverhood, and I'd probably really enjoy an animated movie of it.

Also, Super Mario RPG had some really great jokes in it. Although I'm willing to bet that was liberities taken in the form of the North American script translation. Regardless, here's probably my favourite line from the game:

Mallow: That's the guy who stole my coin! Why didn't you stop him?!
Scrawny mushroom guard: Because I forgot my bazooka at home! Geez...give me a break here!

My favorite line, and I forget where exactly it shows up, but to paraphrase " I'll believe that when a paper dog catches an asbestos cat in hell!"

Also, the ghoul bartender in Gecko is a wealth of NSFW humor.

I just finished Armed & Dangerous. Very funny game. It's made by LucasArts so there's quite a few subtle StarWars jokes here and there. My favorite one is this:

*two guards run up to your crew and tell you to drop your weapons*
*Rexus does a Jedi mind trick*
Rexus: you can't tell us what to do
Guards: We can't tell you what to do
Rexus: you...um....what should I say guys?
Guards: what should he say guys?
*the group argues for a bit on what he should say*
Rexus: You're French!
*Guards drop their guns and run away flailing their arms*
Guards: We surrender!!!
