What awful news. Ringo, who's cartoony art style has always gone over extremely well with me, has died of a massive heart attack at the way too young age of 44.

What a shock. I didn't know him personally, but he's always come off on web boards and at cons like a genuinely nice guy. And he always seemed thin and fit (form being a vegan no doubt) which just goes to show that heart disease can hit anyone.
A damned shame and a great loss. I enjoyed his Flash and Fantastic Four runs quite a bit.
Wow, how horrible. I also loved his runs on Flash and FF. He had a wonderful style.
Thats terrible. His Run with Waid on the FF is my hands down favorite next to Lee/Kirby. He had a very unique style . Horrible news.
Just saw that over at Byrne Robotics, and I was floored. RIP
seriously wow, such a shock :(
looks like my thread got ninja'ed, so I'll just repost my comments in this thread:

It's been reported at Newsarama that comic book artist Mike Wieringo passed away earlier today at the age of 44 from a suspected heart attack. Wieringo is perhaps best known for his work on DC's Flash, Marvel's Fantastic Four and his creator-owned fantasy series Tellos. Wieringo was one of the genuinely nicest guys in comics, and regularly kept in touch with fans via his website (http://www.mikewieringo.com/) and other online outlets, including his own blog and dedicated Comic Book Resources forum, where he would frequently give tips and advice to aspiring artists.
Such sad sad news. I've been following his sketch blog since he started it, and his work was a frequent source of inspiration for my own.
At age of 44?! Wow, that's just scary.
Sadly, I didn't follow his comics. I wasn't into his art style that much, but it's been growing on me the last couple years. I really like the Spider-Man sketches he did on his site, and anyone who can have fun drawing Spider-Ham like he did, must've been a great guy.
RIP Mr. Wieringo.
Terrible, terrible news.
Wieringo was a big inspiration to me. His style really spoke to me. He will be missed.

Terrible news. Mike Wieringo has always been one of my favorites. My condolences to his family. Rest in Peace.
Wow, this is very sad indeed. I've always enjoyed his art. He will be missed.
His runs on Flash, Robin, and the FF were really amazing pieces of art and standout first in my mind. I really enjoyed his work, even his later stuff with Spider-Man was amazing. He really seemed as a kid who loved what he did much more than any adult who was working a job and that is rare. Good night, 'Ringo, rest in peace.
RIP, I enjoyed his art too. I really loved his FF run. I can't believe that he was Vegetarian and had a massive heart attack. That dashes my plans to switch to a vegan diet by the end of this year.

There's something to be said about working in a deadline oriented buisness.
Man, he was a great artist and did really expressive faces, this is just terrible. Hope his friends and family are doing ok.
My internet was down for over a week, so when I got online this was the biggest news I had to get caught up on. I was really shocked as I didn't think he was an old guy. I found out on a newsarama poster's banner ad of all places. :( That's sad news. He did really nice work on Fantastic Four his recent Spider-Man work was good too. He'll be missed for sure.
