I'm way behind the 8 ball on this whole MUGEN, MAME, etc thing, but has anyone seen this before: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pjsr0BnfCXU#
As far as I'm aware. it can't be downloaded from anywhere, but still, its rather cool-looking.
This is where I come out and say "hey, I have it installed on my computer, it's ok, but I will take no part in redistributing it".
Basically the whole DC side is characters created by people, so I downloaded an earlier build that has every character seen there except for maybe superboy and parasite. I got superboy latter off a site though.
It's good, the highlight is superman and wonder woman. Superman is pretty accurate and has a great feel to him since he flies a lot. Wonderwoman is a ton of fun, although her voice files are lifted from Valkrye Profile. It's great to lasso people, swing them around and throw them or perform her other super moves. Batman felt awkward and Lobo is just really far out there. I didint see flash there but he's pretty cool and green lantern (I think I have the guy gardner one) is a trip. I also have ICE and she's very cool.
I played it and loved it. Thor is especially amazing.
The Voice that says "DC VS MARVEL" is...terrible.
But I've watched tons of videos, and it looks like a pretty fun game. They did a good job on a lot of the characters. :)
I never actually had it, but I did score a number of the characters.
Plastic Man? Totally awesome.

Oh dude, I forgot entirely about plastic man. He's weird but so much fun! Same goes for Thor as Afghan say's... sometimes I fire up the game just to fight him against supes.
Saw this on MugenJF's site a day ago.
SO MUCH FUN!
Have a lot of good quality DC characters been created?
Just from a quick youtube search, I've seen some arcade-quality Marvel characters, like Banshee, Ghost Rider, Thor and an incredible-looking Sandman:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BC0jM3NXuj0
anyone have nightwing?
i do, someone coded him real good ^_^
I've played it and I guess it's better with a gamepad. Using the keyboard got me a butt kicking.
Any MarvelvsDC "game" that you've playing is just a collection of characters someone rounded up and put on the net, claiming it's his, because the game hasn't been released yet. However, the characters are availible. Now, some of you may be wondering where to get characters like Banshee. Here's some links.
I'm sure many know of this site already.
http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/index.php (http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/index.php)
The folks here are working on on a MarvelvsCapcom game of their own, and it seems to actually be coming along fine. Several characters, including some Marvel ones, are up for download. However, you'll have to go the "About Us" section and click on "Acey" to get Banshee, Green Goblin, and Galactus, becuase the forum where the characters should also be availible isn't working at the moment. Keep in mind that those 3 characters are all betas.
http://infinitymugenteam.com (http://infinitymugenteam.com)
More characters here, including Green Lantern Guy Gardner. Don't download Hulk, spider-man, or Ironman though, as there's better versions of the characters availible elsewhere.
http://www.presstart.cjb.net (http://www.presstart.cjb.net)
Next, a site that works most of the time, but not all the time. It has a database for MUGEN characters all over the internet, and in the downloads section, they have Gambit, Cyclops, and the Hulk, all having more moves then they did in the "VS" games, and the're well done too.
http://infinitymugenteam.com (http://infinitymugenteam.com)
Finally, a site with only one character, but what a character. It's the Thing, and expertly handdrawn, though he's called La Mole at the site.

I'd like to play with just the Marvel characters. In the opinion of more experienced Mugen users (I only heard of Mugen two days ago), would the least fiddly way of doing this be:
1) to download this piece of "freeware" which has 29 Marvel characters: http://www.caiman.us/scripts/fw/f2863.html
2) then get the additional characters from the sites "kkhohoho" listed above? That'd give me nearly 40 arcade quality Marvel characters to play with, no?
PS an excellent Strong Guy from X-Factor can be found at http://www.buyog.com/MUGEN/guido.html

I forgot about Strong Guy, but I do have him. And I forgot at first, but now I remember there's a Beast on the web, though I can't remember where he is. You might have to use a search engine. The author's name is Slotman.
And, about that piece of "freeware", it has
at least one character that doesn't belong to the author: Thor. You
could download it, but that would be a disrespect towards MUGEN creators. This sort of thing wasn't such an issue 'till recently, when the number of warehouses, sites hosting many MUGEN characters without any permission from the original authors at all, notably increased, which resulted in MUGEN authors fighting back, and making their works private for some time. Some works are
still private because of this fiasco.
And about that "arcade quality". Most of the characters are well done, but Green Goblin and Galactus leave a bit to be desired. They are betas though.
One question..........is there an Aquaman?

You can find an Aquaman here.
http://www.presstart.cjb.net (http://www.presstart.cjb.net)
He doesn't look that great, and he doesn't have a voice, but if you can get past that, you may find him to be enjoyable, especally if you're a fan of the character.
yeah dude u minus well wait for the next aquaman character file
Any idea when that will be out? I am tempted to start picking this thing up, just to kick some but with Arthur.........

Currently, the web page I listed has the only Aquaman on the web, and from what I've heard, the sprites won't be updated anytime soon. He plays decent though. He has some attacks with his spear, and one of his hypers has a whale come from Arthur's side of the screen, and crash into Aquaman's opponent. Here's a link to Aquaman's webpage. Here's the link again, and instructions to get to Arthur. Click on Characters on the left of the screen, then scroll down on the following page till you see him. Click on Aquaman, then scroll down on the following page 'till it tells you to download. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

Does anyone know where I can get Namor, The Sub-Mariner and Black Cat?
Cool, I started playing this...lots of fun! Does anyone know where I can find some more DC characters?
Also, how do you add a new character in? I can't seem to find a read-me or sticky about it...

As far as I know, all DC characters are availible at http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/index.php (http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/index.php) and http://www.presstart.cjb.net/ (http://www.presstart.cjb.net/) .
If you want to learn how to add in new characters, you can learn how to do that and more at http://www.randomselect.i-xcell.com/ (http://www.randomselect.i-xcell.com/) . Just click on Mugen FAQ, located on the left.
EDIT: I just found a site, and it has DC characters. However, I haven't played with any of them yet myself, so I can't tell what quality the're in. The site's located at http://mx.geocities.com/animaraz/MUGEN.htm
I only have superman as a DC Char I think but I lost him. :(
Do someone know where it could be?

There's 2 different versions availible at http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/index.php (http://dcvsmarvel.scruffydragon.com/index.php)
Thanks KK! I found a few of those sites last night while I was poking around, but that tutorial is just what I need!
Curses, curses, curses, curses, curses.......curses....everything is working beautifully, it's a lot of fun.....BUT......Aquaman makes my computer crash. Why, oh why does everyone hate the King of the Sea? I'm gonna' try and figure it out, since he was the main reason I downloaded this in the first place.

He works fine on my computer. You could check his command script, and see if there's any bad commands, or you might not have his SFF file. You could also have Aquaman crash again, and then check the error message that follows to see what's wrong.
It's weird, 'cause the match starts fine, but after a few seconds my computer restarts. I've emailed his creator, and we'll see what happens.

ALL HAIL NAMOR!
is your computer old grey?
Not brand new, but she's pretty solid. Speaking of Namor, does he have a character out there somewhere? If I can get Aquaman working, I'd love to slap 'ol wing-foot around, show him who REALLY rules under the waves.
i don't think theres a namor character out there.
and yeah that would be an intresting match
aquaman vs namor!
dc vs marvel

There
was going to be a Namor, but Slotman, the person working on Namor, found that many MUGEN creations had been leaked by warehousers before completion without permission, and were traded all over the web. Slotman decided to make all his current WIP's private, which not only included Namor, but a number of DC and Marvel characters, such as a brand new Aquaman character, with an apearence more akin to that of classic Aquaman. He was also working on a new Guy Gardner GL, Catwoman, Desparo, Black Panther...but now, his many WIPS may never see the light of day.
That's a crying shame. Hopefully he'll release them one day when he actually finishes them......hopefully.
yes
its kinda the same with the batman mugen
the creator caught people stealin his wips so he canceled his mugen
(i think that how it goes?)[
anyone knows whats the song name in the dc vs marvel mugen?
its called gamma but whos it made by?
Batman/Superman vs Wonderwoman/Aquaman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPpk_PtwCa8
