Eh. looks ok. However, I want to know why the MTV spider-man didn't follow through. That was an awesome version.

Interesting....hmm, the art doesn't look too bad, and as long as they don't try too hard to be 'hip' (*sigh*...ohh the Batman...), it could be alright.

Ugh...didn't care for it.

Thanks for the link!

A few thoughts:

- I like how they went with a younger, teen-aged Peter Parker, it's a great way to introduce kids to the character while offering something for adult viewers (not necessarily current comic book readers) who will likely remember Spider-Man from his earlier comic book appearances.

- Nice art style, it's very sleek and simple although not as uniquely stylized as Teen Titans or JLU, and nothing like the clumsy work on Marvel's recent direct-to-DVD animated projects like Ultimate Avengers and Iron Man.

- The opening music track sounded like an homage to Joe Perry's (lead guitarist for Aerosmith) opening intro for the 1994 Spider-Man: The Animated Series. I actually wonder if it's Joe Perry (who's a huge Spider-Man fan... check out his custom Spidey guitar (http://www.celebrityrockstarguitars.com/rock/images/bol063.jpg), complete with silver web inlays) on guitar on this new track.

- Anybody else digging the irony of a new Spider-Man cartoon being promoted under the WBKids banner (a DC comics affiliate)?

Yeah, I always found that amusing, even with X-Men Evolution.

From what they've said in the past about it, its going to follow the timeline and stories of the comics. So I am left to wonder and speculate that that means we will see Gwen and eventually she will take a dive. But with it being KidsWB, I doubt it.

But I can hope.

That would be the coolest thing in a cartoon since the Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker movie. They would probably have to do the same thing with the Direct to Video thing but I'd buy it.

Also looks like a good rogues gallery of villains - I'm pleased to see the Vulture turning up - always one of my faves.

Hopefully they wont do a venom story for a long long time, maybe in the seventh season. :P

Yes I know they hinted at venom in the trailer but I can dream.

Each and every animated series ever created has better animation in the theme song than in the series itself.

The reason being that the opening credits/theme is what hooks the children into watching the episode. If you look back to Transformers and Thundercats you will se an opening sequence that has superb animation but when you watch the regular series you see sub-par animation.

This is a complicated way of saying "Put your best foot forward." The trailer for the Spectacular Spider-Man series is quite neat-o. I hope that the series will hold up to the animation standards that the "Spectatular" trailer hyped... but I doubt it.

Hmm, looks to me like it might be an Ultimate Spider-Man thing. Not a bad thing really, since the ultimates are easier for younger kids to get into. A hybrid like Ultimate Avengers would be quite good I think.

Yeah, what I was thinking is that they should of just gone ahead and called it "Ultimate Spider-man" just like the comic, since that's what it looks like they are trying to emulate and come on, kids love words like "Ultimate" or "extreme!".

Beyond that I like the way it looks and I love the way he was using his webbing, very good feel to it. And yeah, for me they can get away with doing this since "young Peter" is part of the Spider-man mythology, he was young when the comic started. I'll gladly keep an eye out.
