Title: Wizard World Chicago
Post by: Zapow on July 20, 2007, 08:42:58 AM
Anyone going next month?

C6 and I will be in Artists Alley at table 5608 signing books and doing commisioned artwork.

We'll have free candy!

Please stop by and say hello.

I keep thinking about going some year, to either this or GenCon. Now that two of my friends have moved back to the Midwest, it's looking more and more tempting.

How is C6's commission schedule? I was just thinking the other day of inquiring about his rate, but wasn't sure who/where to contact.

If you see me at the table...it's commission time! :D

Rates vary depending on what you want. 10$ to 30$ usually...

C6's best piece of commisioned work from last year.

I hope that guy comes back with another off the wall request.

What's the dates? Some of my friends and I have been talking about some "Road Tripping" before class starts back up.

My brother is going this year. His shop got free tickets, so he's going with a regular customer. He's going to stop by your booth, I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure you signed both of my copies of Honor Brigade already, but I'll give him something to get signed (lol).

I'll have him mention Figure Fan.  :P

It doesn't look like I'm going to make it this year: I can't free up enough cash for plane, hotel, food, and admission right now.  :(  I will try for next though.

I was hoping to get the next two issues of HB in person too :(

We will not be able to swing this Con this year. It will be the 1st time in 4 years or so. Fundage is too tight. Besides, with a camping festival in a couple days, and Mrs Proto going to the Star Wars Celebration IV recently, pretty much ruled out WW.

Oh, for all the time and money to do whatever we wanted.

Same here Cort.  I don't go up there for the conn, but to meet the folks from FR.  I've enjoyed it every year so far and I want to do it this year, but it just wasn't in the cards.

Hopefully Next year we'll be doing this again so I can get another chance to see you guys.

I will be missing WW-C for the first time in a couple years, too. Usually, I try to sneak in at least one summer trip back to Chicago and have been lucky to meet up with many of you guys the past couple years.  This year, various friends' weddings and charity activities have me on the run for most of Summer/Fall weekends.

I'll miss seeing y'all.

Looks like this is a bad year for it all the way around.

Maybe we should start planning for next year now.  ;)

I won't be at WW Chicago unless I luck up and win the lottery before then (and I doubt they'll ever do a WW Knoxville. grrr.....), but I did toss up a promotion for you appearing there over at Byrne Robotics in a stickied WW Chicago thread at that board, so hopefully that will nab you some more fans and maybe some commissions.

Hey, Zapow - Here I was going to ask if you were going to do GenCon this year. Guess that'd be a little tight for scheduling, wouldn't it?

Have fun at WW-C.  :)

I was going to rattle off a list of artists for people to hit up for Stilt-Man and Beta Ray Bill sketches on my behalf, but it looks like everyone's bailing out this year!

Well, you could always ask C6 if he'll do one for you....

Personally, I'm holding out until they decide to revive Stilt Man and introduce his arch enemy, Captain Window Washer!

Might not be a bad idea as they've moved it up considerably- June 26-29, 2008.
