Howdy guys, I never would have thought that I would have been to see a Harry Potter movie on opening day, but thanks to my wife....guess who was sitting in the theatre a few hours ago. I was surprised to find out just how excited I was when the title flashed up on the screen. These movies are actually pretty good, and this one is absolutely fantastic. Now, I've never read the books (I did scan the Sparknotes versions out of curiosity, but that's about it) so I can't speak to that element of it, but aside from varasity, this movie was flawless. It was engaging, exhilarating, and all together hair raising. Go see it, I promise that you'll enjoy it.

im not too sure of the asian release date but i will definately be there. this movie just wont feel the same as getting christmas "munchies" with my old roommates and going to see it.
I still find the 4th one to be the best out of the current 5 movies. The 5th one just felt as though it didn't have a lot of content in it.

It just felt like an hour instead of 2 hours+. For example, you could have a movie 3 hours long, but if it's just about a guy sitting in a chair watching TV and you don't have a watch ready at all times, then chances are, it's not going to feel like 3 hours.
Saw it. Loved it. Seemed darn near perfect to me.
Yes, after the utter travesty that was Prisoner of Azkaban and the huge disappointment that was Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix was a wonderful breath of fresh air.
A respectful adaptation and a director who just wants to direct (as opposed to putting "his own stamp" on things; I hate that- if you want to put "your own stamp" on something write something original and direct that instead) and was able to coax some wonderful performances out of his actors (most notably first-timer Evanna Lynch, who played Luna. I thought the character of Luna was the best thing about OotP, the book (easily the weakest book in the entire series) and Evanna was amazing, making it even more disappointing that

Harry and her don't end up together. I was rooting for Harry/Luna since I read book five. Still, Ginny would've been my second choice, so I'm not too devastated.

The only problem I had (and it wasn't even a problem with this movie) was that they had cut so much of someone's scenes out of PoA and GoF that when [spoiler] Sirius dies[/spoiler] it was difficult to feel any grief for him as his connection with Harry was much more tenuous in the films than in the books.

This is my view of the movie. I'm not trying to be mean or rude, but I'm just voicing my thoughts. When watching a movie, unless the movie is supposed to be cheesy, or just about action and visuals like Transformers, I look beyond the visuals, no matter how good they may be, and beyond the acting unless it is absolutely awful, and I get to the story, unless it's supposed to be an action move like Transformers, and Order of the Phoenix's story was not one of the best I've seen. It was simple, and had been done before. Heroes know that something bad is going on, heroes try to do something about it, something goes wrong, heroes beat the bad guys, and then The End. There is more to it then that, but that's pretty much what it was. spider-man 3 was more complex then this. Even Pirates 3 was more complex then this. I can't really describe the basic plots of those 2 movies in a few sentences like OtP. Don't get me wrong, the movie wasn't bad. It was okay, but I view Goblet of Fire as the better film.
