Title: new "NifSkope" nif importer/exporter for 3dsMax released, 1/7/07
Post by: tommyboy on July 06, 2007, 06:56:57 AM
New importer that lets you import FX, and makes a reasonable stab at importing bones and bips. I imported a mesh and the main body immediately "inherited" the animations of the mesh I imported it into, which is pretty impressive.
Havent tried the exporter yet.
But this is getting better all the time...

Anything new on the gmax front with this release, tommy?   I've not visited the NIFTools forum in an age, so I haven't any idea what this might mean for the masses.

EDIT: Aye, you're right there, tom.  The biped parts load as bones even in gmax.  Nice update!

Yes,sorry, I should have mentioned, support for:
Gmax
Max 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
is included (ie all versions).
Whether this means people with say Max9 can export for FF I dunno, but I think its getting closer...
