Title: Uh-Oh.... Vista....
Post by: Shogunn2517 on July 01, 2007, 05:09:37 AM
So I finally upgraded my system and went out and bought a new laptop, it comes with all kinds of new stuff and Windows Vista.  So I get around to installing Freedom Force and when I'm ready to play it says it's not compadible with this version of Windows.  What's worse, it said it could not find any solutions to the problem.  What's even worse, it suggested I contact Irrational Games(not Microsoflt) fol a solution.

Okay this sucks.

Anyone try playing Freedom Force on Vista yet?  I'm sure it has got to work.  I heard Vista having compadibility problems with some games, but I didn't think it would simply not play at all.

Any help out there?

I recall there being a few threads around here about vista and FF. I think the general answer was that the 2 were not compatible, but the tools still work. Maybe UE will respond to this thread with a more definite answer since he has Vista as well.

FF doesn't work on Vista but FFVTTR does :)

Well, I guess that's a sign, Lunarman...  A pain in the arse, but a sign.

It seems to be working on Vista for me

First get all the official patches.

Then amend the properties for the game to run compatible to Windows XP/SP2

Okay, nevermind people.  Evidently, it was as easy as downloading patches 1.2 and 1.3 and it works without problem.  Actually works better.
