'Tis a shame, UY. :(  I hope 'twas not your wine cellar that flooded.  One should tolerate the loss of anything one can do without, but to countenance the loss of something one cannot do without is a clear sign of vice and degeneration. ;)

Good luck with the draining/pumping/headache. :)

P.S. I wonder how many of our number have had the worst two weeks ever.  Is Mercury in retrograde?  (Nevermind...I learned that it is...until today...)

We had some water pour in through a basement window a couple weeks ago.  Luckily, Madam T saw it in time and ran out to scoop water out of the window well before more went in.  $200 and two weeks later there's new carpet in that room (cleaning costs would've cost more...go figure).

I ALMOST wish I had your problem.  While not having a basement isn't bad, not having rain is.  We're on Level 3 drought alert for yet another week, and our second or third year of record low rainfall.  [sigh]

I wish I could come over and take all that rain off your hands.  Instead, I'll hope that the damage isn't too bad.

There's been some crazy weather about the place recently.  There's never a good time for a basement to flood and its minor compared to your other woes Yuan but it can be the case that when things are bad a realtively smaller problem can seem a lot worse.  Hopefully there was no major damage.

I know how the flooding has felt...one of me bloody safehouses is six feet deep in water and I'm nowhere near a large body of water even! Ruined a bloody case of vodka...a CASE!!! I dannae recall asking to have an in-door pool installed across me whole safehouse!
