Post by: thalaw2 on June 19, 2007, 06:17:31 PM
I haven't said anything about this here, but today I'm borading a plane for Ghana West Africa.  I'll be there for a week then return to China.  Wish me luck!  I'll take plenty of pics.

Wow!  I don't think I've ever known anyone who has gone to Ghana . . .

What takes you there?

Have a great time!

If you can, take in some music while you're there.  Ghana has an incredibly rich musical tradition.
Have a blast!

Sounds like a great trip; you're really getting to the parts that other travellers don't reach.

Thanks for the well wishes.  Ghana is a very fine place.   i'm really enjoying myself here.  I wish I had more than six days.  My daily schedule has been pretty packed with tours and lectures.  I'm here as part of my college professor's, now close friend's, study abroad program.  He invited me as a former student who has been successful living and working abroad.  The more I tell my story the more peple tell me how brave I was to move out of the US and into a second world or even third world country.

People have called me there hero and I don't know how to excpet it excpet to remain humble.

Anway, the music here is great.  i heard a live band last night and will see another tonight.  I've also been laying down some foundations for business deals which I pray will be lucrative.

Things didn't start off too well here.  First I was made to pay off the police because I couldnt change Chinese currencey then I was over charged for the teaxi ride to the hotel.   But it seems everything is taking a complete 360.   Always remember to keep a positive attitudede.  I travel for thrill of adventure so nothing can really rob me of that.  Adventure is adventure.
