This game looks really good, anyone have any reviews of it?
I tried playing the first games in the series.
If you're into strategy and what not, they are pretty cool, but it was a bit too much for me.
I'm OK at RTS type strategic management games when its minimal (ala freedom force)...
These games while nice looking and very large, are just too daunting in terms of gameplay for me.
From what Ive read, Its prettier and the combat mechanics have been modified, but gameplay is still very similar to the previous games.
For me it's the best RTS out right now together with Company of Heroes when it comes to balancing realism with fun. It had some major AI issues but those have pretty much been fixed by now. Otherwise you've got a game where you can impale enemy generals with flaming ballistas, blot out the sun with crossbow bolts and send literally hundreds soldiers through holes you blasted in your enemies walls. I say at least give it a try, especially since it just went down to 39.99 and the expansion comes out in two months including a whole bunch of obscure meso american tribes such as the Zapotecas and Nahuatl.
M:TW2 has Zapotecas and Nahuatl? Thats a very odd addition.

Actually the only one I know for certain are the chichimecas... but I mean if you've got chichimecas you've gotta have those two. Either way yeah, there's going to be some meso american tribes.
BTW this post got me playing again in my game as the vennetians. Right now I've got a good economy and a good army but my assassins have been walking around europe killing nobility left and right... Im up to like max dread with my king, he is like this feared master of shadows or something. Oh, and I just called a crusade against milan... because one of my cardinals became pope. I love this game...
Man, I'm jealous, I bought this game but now can't enjoy it because my comp is rebooting whenever I try to play a game. I have been trying to find the problem for weeks now with no luck.
I'm probably going to have to pick this up eventually.
this game is really absorbing. i can't wait for the new expansion pack either.
ive been playing strategy games for over 15 yrs everything from Age of Empires,Civilization,Panzer General,Nabungas Ambition and Romance of the 3 Kingdoms on Nintendo 8 bit back in the day and i can say this has to be one of the best ever i have Total War Rome and Medieval 2 i also plan to buy the ME2 expansion when i can afford to do so . Id be nice to see some kind of Fantasy expansion with this series i know there are ones out there like the Lord of the Rings one but i love the way the Total War series engine is above all others ... :thumbup: :thumbup:
