I hope this turns out good...

If it does maybe it could lead to a Supergirl movie later on...
It could be interesting. They are making their ages a lot closer though. They could have made her much younger, but I guess they want the main cast to continue to be closer to the age of those that have grown up watching the show.
It does give Clark another family member, with Martha Kent leaving the series. It also allows another angle in storytelling for Clarke to learn more about his own background from his cousin. With everyone else but Clark flying, you have to wonder what the justification for the creators continuing to be stubborn about this are.
Further news about this:
It looks like they're using a version of the modern origin--that Kara was sent as a teen to take care of baby Clark, but got caught in stasis for years, waking up to find out that her baby cousin is now older than she is.
I'm sorry, but isn't this like, the second or third supergirl now? Supergirl is not such a standout character that they need her in smallville. I'd be more interested in some more conventional superman villains
They brought in Bizzaro, doesn't that count?
And on this show, this is the first real supergirl. Everybody named Kara, or who happens to be a female Kryptonian does not count.
This is the actual Kara Zor-El, this time.

True, but it's not the REAL Bizarro. I'd rather they went with the post-crisis deteriorating clone concept.
Personally, I'd like to see the Toyman. The Superman TAS version was gleefully creepy, and it would be fairly easy to tweak him enough to fit into Smallville.

I hope she's hot. I know that's horrible, but I do.

Actually, even post-crisis, there have always been multiple versions of Bizzaro. The clone you mentioned is not even the current one. That means that this Bizzaro can even die, perhaps become an inspiration to whoever makes the next Bizzaro.

She hasn't yet been cast, so we'll see.
I thought Clarke flew a couple of time last season? He still can't fly!
Clark as Kal-El flew, but not Clark in his normal personality. There's a "No flights, no tights" rule in effect for the show.
Not anymore.
Kara will be able to fly because "Girls mature faster than boys".
The "no flights, no tights" rule has always been interpreted to mean just Clark, so the rule still stands.

I knew there was at least one more Post Crisis Bizarro (who made an appearance in a Superman/Batman storyline), but I didn't know how many exactly still exist. I was simply referring to the one who I read a old 90's issue about (a deranged, delusion Luthor-made clone who was in love with Lois Lane) because the TAS version was nearly identical (and I liked the initial storyline he appeared in)

I've been saying in years that in tv, comics and movies, "they try to make the female characters attractive unless the script says otherwise" this of course is specific to a certain age group.
Actually, there were three or four pre-crisis Bizzaros as well. The very first Bizzaro died in the very fist comic in which he appeared.
And cured the blindness of Lois Lanes sister, if I remember correctly.
...
Now I've gotta read it again. Damn thee all!

.......wow.....that dragged the memory of that storyline out from *way* at the bottom of the pile of mental archives!

She looks Super-girlish
She's not a bad choice for Supergirl, but man I don't like her cheekbones. Maybe it's just the photo, I don't know.
