Right, seeing as there seems to be a few computer-niques floating around here I thought we could try this.
Here's the challenge:
You have $1100 to build the best gaming computer you can
It must include: mouse, keyboard, monitor and speakers
Anything else is optional
list all your componants here.
Do you think you can do it? Good luck!

Does this mean we don't need the actual computer?
And what about us brits? That gives us about £600 to get everything, which is slightly hard for a gaming pc
I want to play but I dont have much time and I'll be out of town most of the weekend... for now:
2 gigs of Mushkin ram (russian, very good) $80-$100
2 samsung 320 internal drives (about 100 each)
MSI motherboard (about $160)
MSI 512 radeon graphix card (like $250 to $350)
1 dual layer dvd burner ($30)
full tower with 500w power supply (less than $100)
logitec mouse + keyboard combo (like $25, very good for that cheap)
any speakers (not my forte)
$150 18" flatscreen monitor
I owe you guy's the processor for now, I would need to actually go on newegg
That should run roughly $1100 and it's very similar to my 1 y/o machine which runs command and conquer 3 and oblivion flawlessly.

Well I can say the budget in pounds should be £550, it's the $ conversion which is a bit off :).
And yes, it's hard. If I said you can have £2000 to make the best gaming pc you can then there'd be no challenge :D
And reepi, you crack me up :)
Keep 'em coming kids (couldn't resist the alliteration ;) )
I got a guy down on Auburn Ave. that says he can get youse guys a few 27in widescreen monitors REALLY cheap. He said they were practically a steal.
