Title: When Juggernaut was at peak power could anyone beat him?
Post by: SingleMalt on June 03, 2007, 08:01:49 PM
Other than Hulk when he was War I don't remember anyone being able to beat him. I think Thor did but I can't remember.

Physically? No.

Psychically? Sure.

Let me be so bold as to correct you Bredon.

It is according to who the writer was. Doctor Octopus tore the Hulk a new one in the pages of Spider-Man as written by Erik Larsen. A few months later Doc Ock appeared in the pages of the Incredible Hulk written by Peter David and the Hulk literally flicked him with his finger and beat him.

That is a perfect example of different writers with different views. It is hard to analyze a characters powers versus another character when it all comes down to the writers view point.

I can't even really imagine a way for Dr. Octopus to beat the Hulk, at least one that doesn't involve contrived explanations as one of Ock's super-powers.

Well, Doc Ock is supposed to be one of the world's greatest radiation experts, so I suppose it's possible that he could beat the Hulk with the aid of some sort of scientific invention or something...

As far as Juggernaut goes, he was beaten, at full power, many, many times, generally, at least in part by means of psionic powers. I don't think he was ever beaten through pure physical strength, but Thor beat him once or twice, with the help of his hammer's enchantments (and it was clearly demonstrated that without Juggernaut's force field, Thor had the advantage), and even Spider-Man effectively beat him once- I believe he basically trapped him in a huge amount of concrete, which wouldn't have actually completely stopped him, but slowed him down enough to effectively beat him. Of course, that was durring Spidey's "he can beat anyone" days...

He's been beaten but like others said, not by physical means.  Only battlefield removal, magic, psychic attacks or immobilization can stop him.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone just beat the snot out of him. I remember Nimrod blasting him several miles away, but it didn't really hurt him much. Thor Exiled him to another dimension to beat him. Superman punched him once, but the rest of the battle wasn't shown (it would have made the series so much better). Usually the Xmen swarm over him like ants until they can get his helmet and skullcap off and then he's easy pickings for their psy members to take. You'd think they'd do that to all their enemies.

Actually, Nimrod was manhandling him pretty easily. He popped in as being pretty hardcore. Then there was Onslaught.
