Title: Mesh for FutureJLA_Robin
Post by: SpecterFan on May 16, 2007, 10:53:05 AM
I have a skin named FutureJLA_Robin. I have no idea what mesh it uses. I don't remember where I got it or when. It has no readme file. It also has no wireframes.

Its primary tga files are male_basic, male_basic_extras, and male_basic_fire. The extras tga looks as though it was a wireframe which was almost totally painted over. There are not enough details showing which could provide a clue as to what mesh to look for.

Has anybody got any idea as to what to look for or where? I can post pics of the tgas if that would help.

Thanks for your time,
SpecterFan

Hmm, it could be from Earth-2 Robin, which you can find here:

Try male_basic_effects.

Unless he's got a cape, then try male_cape_effects. (I think that's a mesh.)

I have a feeing its Beyonder's MALE_LONGJACKET_OPEN_FX. As I recall that skin had a jacket.  Check the master mesh list for its location.

If you get his working, I'd appreciate  screenie.

It is indeed MALE_LONGJACKET_OPEN_FX.  That was a skin I made waaaaay back in 2002 or 2003.  The collar and glasses were alpha'd out.

Your version looks far better than what I have, Thunder. When I open it with Character Tool, it's nowhere near as nice as what I see here. I used MALE_LONGJACKET_OPEN_FX_noGLASSES_noFX but I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I seem to be having quite a bit of trouble working with alpha material and such. For example: no matter what I have tried so far I can not get Grenadier's Batman to display correctly (i.e. Batman's cape). I've had this same problem over and over again with other meshes as well. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or what the correct procedures and/ or settings might be.

I think I'm having a similar problem with Ink's Batman_Final. (I apologize if I have the name wrong. As far as I can remember, it is the last Batman mesh which Ink posted on GPL.) When I check his flight animations with the Character Tool, it works fine but there are NO ROPES!

Thanks again for posting your Robin skin. Now I know what it should look like. If anyone has any input on those two problems I mentioned, I'm all ears.

One more thing: sorry I didn't get back sooner but my PC has recently become "Internet Challenged".

Are you using original FF or FF vs. 3rd Reich? A lot of video cards seem to have trouble rendering alphas in FF1.

I work with FF1.

I don't seem to have too much trouble with the male_alpha meshes. I think where they are concerned, it's a matter of working with alpha layers and Paint Shop Pro 7.
