Hey guys,
Can someone explain, as if to a simpleton, how I use M25 AI? I'm getting weary of opponents flying around too much and not using all their cool looking powers.
Cheers,
Jake
Hi Jakew, have you read over the M25AI Tutorial included in FFX3.2? You can post one of the AI files and I can see if I can help in getting them to behave the way you'd like.
If you haven't used the AI generator, use that first.
It's a Rumble Room mission. Just choose the characters who need AI as you heroes and run it, then choose them as enemies in a regular Rumble Room Session, and you should see them behave a little more intelligently.
will this rumble room ai generator work for :ff:?
No, it won't AI won't work for customs in :ff: anyway.
It is possible that the AIs that it creates may be able to work, at least in part, with identical built-in characters in :ff: but I'm not sure of that.
Yes, get FFX3.2, and then take your characters into the AI generator rumble room mission. It's all automated. AI's for customs are stored in you hero file directory if you want to mess around with them, but generally the generator does pretty well.
bearded: the AIs from the two games are similar, but not identical, and they won't work between versions. As cat said, you can't use custom AIs on custom heroes in :ff: anyway as the scripting hooks don't exist in that version.
Jakew,
As a fellow simpleton, I, too, have to recommed the generator. After the AI files are generated, you can always go into them and tweak this or that or whatever. For me, the hardest part is knowing how to scale distances, times, etc., but the generator takes care of that, so all you really have to worry about is adjusting certain situations and/or power names.
If you can, give yourself an hour or two with the documentation. It's not easy, but it is logical, and once you see the completed file, it will actually make sense.

Thanks guys ... I'll have a muck around with it this weekend.
