Title: converting a skoped mesh
Post by: the_ultimate_evil on May 06, 2007, 01:03:45 PM
does anyone have any tips or info on converting a skoped :ff: mesh so that it works in :ffvstr:. i've a few meshs i skoped using the orginal CT, yet no matter how many times i try and convert them they still crash CT2

i'm also getting this is itry and work with 2 converted meshs

"nif versions differ

current file version 4.00.1
clipboard data version 10.1.00

the result could be unpredictable"

Hmm.. I have had that last message more times than i care to remember.  I think FF1 meshes are version 4.0 something.  If you try to copy parts from meshes that are different versions you get that message and it never actually works.  I then accept the fact that the mesh will only be usable in FFvs3R...

...and I'll convert the 4.0 mesh to FFvs3R, and the parts work fine after conversion.

As for the first problem.. i haven't had any meshes refuse to work after skoping and conversion.  Maybe try converting the component parts first?

"current file version 4.0.0.2"

This is an FF mesh.

"clipboard data version 10.1.0.0"

This is an FF3R mesh.

One explanation is that your conversion did NOT work. It can be tricky to do sometimes.

You sure it converted the keyframes? Sometimes it won't convert both even though it says it does.
