Okay. So there's this mesh that I'm working on in NifSkope. I have it all frankensteined up (yeah, cheap, but I'm a skinner, not a mesher), and it runs just nifty in the character tool. Problem is, when I go to convert it (ala EZNifConvert), I get a fatal error, there's no change, and when I load FFV3R, It crashes my game. So, anyone wanna take a look at it, fix it, and tell me what in blazes I've done wrong?
I'm on Dialup so I won't bother to upload it anywhere now, but if you think you can help me, please tell me where I can send it.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Nergal~!
just dont convert it if it runs fine in character tool.
but if you want to fix the brightness, if that is an issue in game, open up all of the branches of the mesh parts and click on the palette icons under the texturing properties, then just set the emmisive level to the middle at the bottom of the triangle.
It appears that once you've NifSkoped a mesh, it can no longer be converted. As Detourne says, if it works ok in the CTool, it doesn't really need converting anyway. The other option would be to start over and convert the mesh first, before you do all the frankensteining.
Thank ye muchly, and thank ye again. Honestly a little redfaced about the whole "not thinking doing that in the first place. Ah well. At least I have a version of the skin compatible with the first game, being on order and all.
Lets see what comes of this,eh?

I don't think that holds true across the board. It may have to do with the amount of skoped parts. I had a lighting issue when I put pant legs on a FL_Straighthair, where she would be lit correctly in game the pant legs were cast in shadow (looked horrible). Nif converter fixed it without issue
Either way converting it first fixed everything. Thanks very much for that. Here's how it turned out:

Not Spectaular, I guess, but I like it.
By the way, has anyone found a guy shirt mesh?
