Title: Enemy grunt/soldier
Post by: Dr.Volt on April 28, 2007, 06:39:59 AM
I'm looking for a mesh/skin for a basic enemy super agent/soldier/ground pounder.  Y'know, kind of like the basic Cobra agent from the old GI Joe series or a basic Hydra agent from Marvel.  Even a variation on Renegade's soldier mesh would be fine.  Anyone know where I could get one??

Thanks!

You don't have any specific looks or anything, do you? Because you could always use that skeleton skin on the soldier mesh.

Yeah, that was kind of vague wasn't it??   I am just looking for some lowered powered adversaries for some of my lower powered heroes (such as Batman, Daredevil etc).  I am growing tired of the usual  :ff: thugs.  Preferrably gun toting thugs.  And soldiers just came to mind.  I didn't realize that there was a skeleton skin on Ren's soldier mesh.    Yes, that would be fine then.  Thanks Unko man!

Renegade has converted male_civilian and male_suit over to gun-toting gangsters: you can find them over on his site.

Texas Jack did several meshes suitable for underlings, including an AIM agent. He also did Eric Powell's Goon character, which works great for a big burly thug.

Maybe you could make your lower powered heroes higher?

This is your universe, you plot it how you like!

For ninjas, try Nox Genesis:  http://membres.lycos.fr/gniz713/PGarde.htm (http://membres.lycos.fr/gniz713/PGarde.htm)

Somebody had hexed out his gambit mesh to make it a ninja (not sure where to find it).  You can also do the same with the luke skywalker, qui-gon jinn, and darth maul meshes as well.  Just hide the lightsabers and unhide the swords/staffs.

The meshes are all in french, but, with a little effort, you can figure out what is what.

The keyframes aren't the best, and they have to be converted for FFVTTR, but they're still pretty cool.

Spring Heeled Jack and C6 have done a heap of different Hydra cannon fodder. Check out SHJ's webpage and C6's yahoo groups.

For  :ff: are Tommyboy's Male_Basic_Gunthug and Male_Heavy_Bat.   Somewhere floating around, I have a crapload of generic villainous lackey skins for these meshes (Hydra, Hellfire Club, Hand Ninjas, Foreigner's Assassins, and many others).   As soon as I find the file with the skins, I'll load it up.

I just loaded up the skins for the Male_Basic_Gunthug mesh.   The MBG mesh replaces the thug1 mesh in FF1.

Also, using that as a base, I 'skoped an Advanced Idea Mechanics (AIM) mesh, it just needs a skin and I haven't had the motivation to do it.

I have the male_heavy versions on a disk, but my disk driver isn't working right now.   If I can ever get that taken care of, I'll get those loaded up too.
