Title: Help?
Post by: CF Kane on April 26, 2007, 08:17:11 PM
I tried to do a very simple nifskope where I only took parts away from an existing mesh. I saved it as a nif, but now the skin won't read onto the mesh. Did I skip a step?

Did you save it as the same character.nif, or did you save it someplace else?

I saved it to another folder

Which game are you doing this for, and where are you trying to view the mesh?

I'm doing it for  :ffvstr:, using one of Revenant's meshes.  I'm viewing the mesh using Character Tool 2, and it only appears as a mesh-shaped magenta blob. The skins don't seem to be reading. I know that some skins do this when there's no _glow file, but those files seem to be in order.

Hmm which mesh is this?  Is it one that has an animated texture by any chance?

It's the one for DC's version of Ares. I was planning to make a skin for that mesh, and so I was trying to hex off some of the unnecessary parts (belt, helmet spikes, etc.)

I suppose I should have asked permission before I started
