Title: why won't this work ??? (nifskope)
Post by: joemama on April 17, 2007, 08:55:38 PM
 :ffvstr:

So I skoped a new map, taken from FFvTTR maps.  Loaded it up in FFedit's In-game editor and I have zero camera control.  It pans a few paces up and right, but that's it.  I tried it with a custom level layout.  I tried it with an existing level layout.  No luck

Any suggestions?

I like the look of the map.  It looks like something I could use for Liberty Bay possibly.  Wish I could be of help.

the only good thing about compulsive obsession is that you can't stand an unsolved problem...

..I dug through each node and mesh and came across the following entry on all the walls, columns, and (view) screen area sections:

NiStringExtraData: UserPropBuffer
String Data: string:  AREA_UNPASSABLE

I removed this and regained camera control.....as long as I stay within the confines of the map area itself.  I can't pan across the entire map, I have to navigate the area covered by the hallways/rooms.  This is kinda cool in that it forces an up close and personal camera angle in game.  It kinda sucks for map making.

I think I'm getting closer, but, as always, suggestions are always welcome.
