Title: A closed ToyBox
Post by: Renegade on April 16, 2007, 02:51:00 PM
Cap Lives!

Well, he does in the ToyBox anyway. Lookee here, new stuff from Renegade and C6. Cool, eh?

These are  :ffvstr: only though. Not sure if or when that might change.

Yay!!!! New Renegade Meshes, alright! Awesome work sir!
EDIT
By the way, that melee_9 is a masterpiece. You and C6 truly come off like professionals. These blow the pants of the irrational meshes.

A beautiful custom individualized animation is the trademark of a Renegade Masterwork...seems like just about all of his meshes have that little touch to give them their own identity and soul.
Title: Re: An open ToyBox
Post by: Renegade on April 17, 2007, 07:38:10 AM
Alas, the rally was simply borrowed from another mesh. Minute Man's area attack I think. I can't take credit for it, I just chose to assign it for rally use.

Yes, those Caps are definatly some nice mehses and skins, but I have one MAJOR problem with both of them.............

THERE ISNT ENOUGH DARN POWER SLOTS IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!

That is with so many awsome animations I wanted to utilize all the different melees but I ran out of room :(

Awsome job guys!!
Title: Re: An open ToyBox
Post by: detourne_me on April 22, 2007, 08:16:32 AM
i feel your pain USAgent,  i hexed the keys to maximize keyframes, was able to pare it down to four distinct melee groups (i only use three, disregarding area one), then i have a passive defence, an active defence, a rally and two ranged shield throws (a trick shot with high stun and chained, and a high damage, high speed piercing throw)

that leaves the cool smoke grenade area attack, and a grenade ranged attack i want to use, and the spinning melee attacks,...and the third shield throw...

hmmn,
Ren, a few questions/comments
the truncheon node.... hmmn, what could you be working on man?   if i put something in there will it be invisible until those animations are used?

and Thank you for the pre-alphaed gloves and boots...   it made adding your ultimate cap parts that much easier :)

There is a version of Cap on my end that's basically a Cap Versatile mesh. From it are derived several other meshes that aren't released yet. Soon, but not yet. The truncheon node is a weapon point for a couple of those meshes.

Pick your favorite. Some of them have gun wielding alternates, if you're into that sort of damage. Reminds me of the time I went to see the Phantom movie in a theater a decade ago. The Phantom carries a gun, and I overheard one of the kids in the audience say "superheroes don't carry guns!" Take that Ultimate Cap! Even the kids have figured you out punk!

oh wow, holy moley what a birthday present! i love the variations you tend to make for your meshes Renegade (superman/ultraman, cap. marvel/black adam and now Cap) its great to have all these choices available to us. Thanks to both of you for your hard work, my faves would have to be ultimate cap in fatigues and the reb brown cap, love that stunt helmet...

You so rock, Ren... and C6 of course for skinning these buggers.

And might I possibly sense an Agenty dessert in the works?

Hey, If you have not already seen why not take a gander at Zulu's version of Ult US Agent in the Artist Alley section. Might be worth trying to make as another alternate version of Cap's mesh since he approved of folks using it (or all of them) for FF. Maybe? *begs with puppy eyes* After all Johnny Walker has yet to be Ultimatized and Zulu's totally fits the bill.

oh man. Thank you guys so much!

what i've been doing for the last while is skoping together all the best meshes of characters so i can randomize the skins and i get different versions of the character... with this latest batch of Captain America,  hot diggity.

p.s.  a heads-up, the patriot classic extras skin is a bit off, in the download.

OMG I remember these movies too.
What always struck me about them was his van...that pimpin cool 1970's CHiPS reject van that he parked at the beach...

All these meshes and skins are top notch as always.
But the sheer potential delight of watching 1970's TV Cap get his butt handed to him in the rumble room is too exciting for words...

Well let's see, the TV show had that 1st lousy costume and a shield that Cap was told would make a good weapon but he NEVER USED IT that way. But the sequel redeemed it a little by changing the costume to one more accurate.

The movie's 1940's sequence was okay, but Matt Salinger's fake chin and ears erases that good quality.

Hmmmmm. No contest. Hands down, the worse was the movie for one reason: They made the Red Skull Italian!!

Horrible film. Worst superhero thing I'd ever seen. Until Batman and Robin. brrrrrrr (shudders)

Title: Re: An open ToyBox
Post by: Renegade on May 03, 2007, 07:52:11 PM
Yeah, I see that now. It probably means that I need to update Cap Classic with the current keys as opposed to vice-versa. I'll get on that sometime tonight.

And oh yeah, the wings add so much to it.  It takes it from ordinary to mythical. The folks at Marvel should start giving some thought to adding them to Ult Cap's design..

Really nice stuff guys and I especially appreciate some Hydra goons to knock around. But what us old timers want to know is: Will the dynamic duo do some more JSA? Alan, Charles and Jay to name a few are begging for the Ren/C6 treatment!

Destroying wave after wave of Hydra soldiers and thugs has never been so satisfying, nor has it ever looked so good. Great work!

On a side note, I never mentioned how much I like your use of comic pages in the backgrounds of your preview picks.

man this stuff is great!
heads up.  the male_basic_lightmap is missing from USAgentOmega,   so i was getting a lil pink skin action.

I really love having all the extras mapped to the same tga! that way its really easy to use alphas to have classic and omega versions!  thanks!

I think C6 summed up my original reaction to this.

That said, the files has been corrected. I also fixed a problem with the Hydra_Thug mesh.

So what can I say that I haven't said before? You rock, especially teamed with the skinczars c6 and AA; I'm not worthy, please keep making these awesome meshes/skins/kf's, etc. etc. Honestly though, top tier work as usual, and thank you - Cap is (was?) one of my fav's of all time. If you're ever in SD, I'll thank you with beer in person.

Just in case you missed it in the site news forum, effective immediately the ToyBox is offline.

But it's not gone for good, so put down that knife!

It will re-open after I've moved everything into a new spot with a bit more elbow room (already picked out).

Cheers!

As long as I have your attention, does anyone out there live in a town with a Dollar General store? They apparently have the four SCTV box sets for $10 each. It's a phenomenal deal that I can't score here in California. But if you spot it in your neck of the woods, could you let me know? Thanks.

And now back to our regularly scheduled thread.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
SCTV stands for Second City TV which was a Canadian comedy TV show of amazing greatness. The actors in it were from the Canadian branch of the Second City Improv Theatre. John Candy, Rick Moranis, Eugene Levy (the dad in American Pie), Cathrine O Hara, Martin Short and many many MANY other great comedy actors. It was brilliant.
So an "SCTV box" is more than likely a box set of SCTV DVD's or VHS tapes.
Here is an IMDB link to it

Monster Chiller Horror Theatre was my favorite of theirs.

Oh Canada thanks for SCTV

Renegade, have you found a new location for the site?  If not, would it be possible to set up some yahoo groups where we can get your meshes until you have the new site set up and online?

BTW - there is a Dollar General up the street from me. :)

My Precious! Aaarrrggghh! I hates you I hates you I hates you! I've been haunting my local Targets (and Walmarts, and ToyRUs, and Kay-Bs) since last November looking for one of those!

On the plus side I did score one of the Hot Wheel Batman TV show Batmobiles at Target. The only time I've seen one in any store.

But I still hates you.
