I just saw the slightly different SPidey 3 trailer. I froze the trailer and found this image:

whered u find this cool pic?
The face looks a lot clearer than anthing else in the pic for some reason.
I posted a pic of the official venom figure ages ago and everyone ignored it :P
here it is again:

Thereby proving how ridiculous Venom looks in "real life". That's a very faithful recreation, and it just looks... dumb.
Come on, he's got a super large mouth! Those teeth! Those claws! That tongue! Isn't he totally bad to the maxxxxx?!
Yeah, I've never liked Venom. Ever. The black costume looks cool on Spider-Man, though.
meh looks stupid
tho personally i would of posted a link to said trailer aswell.....
hhhmmm this calls for carnage

Blasphemer!
It's interesting to see... Hmm. Could use a few dozen rippling tendrils, though.
tendrils = carnage, not venom

Not exclusively, fanboy. I've seen him with little curly tendrils, and he always looked better with them.

They're going with a mix of ultimate and 616 Venom. Ultimate Venom had tendrils flailing about, atleast he has them sitting next to me on the desk here. Hence why it's alien suit, but no chest symbol.
I've never seen the Ultimate Venom, and I'm not sure what "616" is.
I forget who the artist(s) was, but his Venom always had tendrils, which did a nice job of highlighting the icky, unpredictable nature of the character's visual appeal. And it was before Carnage, and I always assumed that's why Carnage's tendrils were all over the place. I don't think it was Mark Bagley...but I can't recall any major Spider-Man artists from that same time.
If I can recall who it was and in which issues it appeared, I'll see if I can find an image or scan of Venom with tendrils and show you what I mean.

Again, his appearance is based more on Ultimate Venom, just skinnier...case in point:
hence why tendrils wouldn't be that out of place.

What a sad way to spend a nice afternoon.
I'd call it dedication. Heck, who DOESN'T like grabbing all their old comic issues and just browsing through them? And that's even without proving a point, isn't that a lucky coincidink?

I could defend myself by drawing out how little time it took, but i'd rather sit content that you obviously dont like being proven wrong ^_^
todays lesson, before coming back with "witty" replies, make sure you actually have a clue what you're talking about ;)
(tho if I was truely a fanboy... i'd have a cheesy
fansite )
If there's anything obvious, it's that I've developed quite a foggy memory since I grew up. I was 12 when I read those comics, afterall.

I presumed people knew amazing spider-man 300 was the first time you saw the symbiote as venom and didnt think to clarify, maybe I read too much spidey >_>
and SHJ, you amuse me, especially counting that if you were 12 then you must be atleast 26 now, that indeed does amuse me ^_^
Being 26 amuses me too...I guess. ^_^
so yeah, massive argument over tendrils aside... I don't really think the pic does Venom any justice. You have to see him in the trailer, in motion, to get the idea of how neat he is. He's got the similarities to our beloved comic Venom, but on the other hand, he's got this wicked looking webbing all over parts of his costume now, and without the mouth (I kind of find it pretty sweet that he won't always have the crazy teeth the whole time) this makes him look basically like a really twisted, evil Spidey.
*gets excited*
I think it looks pretty cool, but then I never cared much about Venom anyway.
Posted this in a previous thread.
I also like the way he is drawn when taking damage or the symbiote is agitated. i.e. with tendrils or extraneous morphed bits. One of my favorite styles is the Venom of MvC2. Above all, I prefer the hulking beastial venom over the earlier "costume with an evil grin" as drawn by McFarlane. The best Venom is bulked out, has snaggle teeth, long prehensile tongue, bulging veins, and of course, green slimy drool. Stills of the movie's slenderized Venom don't seem menacing enough and don't do the character justice. He just barely a post-McFarlane Venom.
I was probably thinking of the symbiote being agitated.
ANYWAY, I didn't know the new film is due out May 4. I very slightly jumped out of my seat when I saw it was that close.
I don't know if this has been seen yet either...
Don't like his teeth, but the rest looks sweeeeet...
Basically, it looks to me like venom is being modeled off the movie version of spider-man's black costume.
After all, it didn't make Peter look all big and bulky, so it look similarly slender on the movie Eddie, who is a pretty smaller person anyways.
Venom looks pretty darn awesome in the movie. I've never liked him, really, but the film version is being handled pretty well. I like that he's not SO bulky and that his look takes on a more 'ravaged' Spidey costume. The final fight is going to be something special.

Here's a new trailer that features Venom. The first, that I'm aware of at least. A good chunk of the transformation of Brock is in it, along with a tag line that goes something like: Every hero must fight the VENOM within
That's the first I've seen that one - looks even cooler than the other. I'm please to see Dr. Connor still around!
i hope tobey goes for the 4th spider man movie
I hope there is no fourth. With each successive movie the chances of making something of quality decreases. This chance goes up exponentially when the talent/team involved drop out. Better to quit when you're at the top of the game rather than leave folks with Superman IV. Or even III.
Yeah, a trilogy is enough.
like star wars eh?
i was hoping (if there is a fourth) is that they'll e lizard and carnage as enemies ya know?

[sarcasm]Dang, and here I was hoping Joel Schumacher would give it the old Batman & Robin treatment...[/sarcasm]
If Sam Raimi or Tobey McGuire would leave, I'd be very unlikely to see a next installment. If they remained, I'd see it without question.

Seemed appropriate...
And yes, while I would love to see these movies go on forever... eventually they will screw up and make a terrible one. Going out on top is the best as someone already mentioned.
