Title: foobar2000
Post by: Midnight on April 02, 2007, 04:46:28 AM
Frustrated with Winamp's lack of development since 5 was released and the immense bloat of iTunes on Windows platforms, I've gone in search of a replacement. Songbird will kick all kinds of butt once it's out of pre-alpha, but it's buggy as heck now and I just don't have the patience to deal with it...

So, foobar2000 is the player/organizer of the moment; does anybody have experience with it? It seems very powerful, but there's a significant lack of extra features up front. I'm specifically looking for any plugins/addons that you guys might suggest.

Whaddya think?

Winamp is still fine for my needs.

I use Windows Media Player. It's fine for what I need it to do.  While I used to buy from iTunes (and thereby needed it to play my music) I've converted everything over to mp3/wma and I'm downloading music in mp3 format from here on out.

I use Winamp for music, Divx or Windows Media Player for video, and those work fine for me. I haven't even bothered to get the most recent Winamp update, either; I keep clicking it off when the button pops up.
