Title: FFX 3.0 and 3.2
Post by: Dustopus on March 16, 2007, 03:43:29 PM
I have a technical question regarding FFX.

I have downloaded FFX 3.0 and I'm wondering if FFX 3.2 has enough extras to use it instead of 3.0; and, if it is worth using instead, how do I go about uninstalling 3.0 and overriding it with 3.2?

Thanks for the time.

Well, I am biased, but I think FFX 3.2 has much to recommend it, building as it does on 3.0 and 3.1. It adds new attributes, it makes several improvements to the underlying system, it adds new features like improved AI and EZScript, it fixes some bugs, it should be faster and more stable for most people, etc.

There is no need to uninstall 3.0 or 3.1 to install 3.2. The installer will install over the previous versions. And, there is a utility you can run from the console to transfer your FFX 3.0/3.1 customizations, if you have any.

Glad to help.

Keep in mind that (as pointed out elsewhere) 3.2 is still, technically, a beta release. I don't know that many changes will make their way into the final version, but it hasn't yet been officially released.

(Personally, it works for me, so I am happy with it. But fair warning nonetheless....)
